Dutch70 (48), USA Aug 30, 2007 I found this brewery totally by accident, was traveling and noticed the stainless steel fermenters in the window..Brown, little reddish....About 5.1% ABV and a little watery to my taste, but smooth. Not my style.
D_malone102 (95), Denver, Colorado, USA Sep 28, 2008 I bought a growler of this from the brewery. For $7.00, it’s a good price. It’s dark brown with a decent head and some lacing. Good clarity. It is very malty, as is expected for the style, but there is more than adequate bitterness to balance it out. The aroma is of caramel and earthy hops. There is carmel and chocolate in the flavor, quite drinkable. ratman197 (2344), Arvada, Colorado, USA Sep 9, 2008 On tap @ Pug Ryans poured a clear dark brown with red highlights and a lasting tan head. Aromas of carmel, smoke, toasted malt and dark fruit. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of peat smoke, carmel, dark fruit and a hint of nuts with a smooth lightly sweet malty finish. BeerandBlues2 (2510), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Sep 3, 2008 Draught. Pours brown with an average, fizzy, light brown head, somewhat diminishing with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (caramel, chocolate, nutty), light hops (herbs), average yeast (leather) with notes of dates and apple. Medium bodied, slick texture, average carbonation, and a chalky finish. Average duration, light sweetness, acidity, and bitterness. kflorence (87), San Diego, California, USA Sep 3, 2008 Poured dark brown, much darker than I thought it would be. Smelled of malts, caramel, slight hops, some roasted notes and perhaps something citrusy. The beer was very light on the tongue for how dark it was in appearance, smooth and very easy to drink. It tasted heavily of malts and sweet toffee with great roasted flavors and a slight hop bitterness. Went great with my burger, very enjoyable but not overly flavorful or complex. drjay44 (160), Colorado, USA Apr 4, 2008 Draft, very, very, light on the tongue with minimal sweetness, minimal malt. I did not like it.
