3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
341 ml bottle. A fine rusty red appearance, very scantly clad on the head. Taste borders on a weissbier brown ale crossover. Not overpowering with roast malt and hop. Defiantly more defined then a commercial red yet not too complex for the average swiller. The aftertaste on the mouthful comes away with slight character that is clean with unoffensive bitter.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
341 ml bottle from a six-pack from Sobeys Liquor outlet, served in a shaker pint glass. Pours a very pretty caramel brown hue with a tan, fine-frothed head, leaving rings of lace behind. I did not note the carbonation level. Aroma is a complex of vanilla, maple, coffee, roasted nuts, dark fruit, red wine, spices, and even soy sauce. Flavor is redolent with brown sugar, dark fruit, and soft spices, though not all that winey or sweet as the aromas suggest. It feels kind of warming, as of it were mulled. This makes for an ideal winter beer, with its rich, different nose and mouth experiences, and its elements of sweeter, softer ales and chewy, savory stouts. After having my tongue battered by Minhas’ two latest atrocities against brewing, this is a lifesaver. Excellent beer.

A pale reddish copper in colour with minimal lacing. Rich caramel malts in the front side, some nut and cocoa tones finishes wet and bittering.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
It's not enjoyable, I don't like red ales very much but this one is really not a fave. Bad news, someone left a lot if it in my fridge.

not bad as a diner beer, i would not drink it on its own as a "pleasure beer"

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pretty standard amber ale, but a decent one. Tastes of caramel, earth, and some spice to it and a dash of skunk. It has a medium slick body to it, with a bit of hop, skunk finish, but it is a reasonable skunk.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A decent foray into Red territory. Not sure why this style technically doesn’t exist but similar German styles all get different titles. If someone can clarify that please do. Anyway, this ruddy ripper aromates of caramel, nuts and, hay and bread. A little bit of vanilla in the taste as well as light earthiness and well proportioned pine and citrus hops.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
341 ml bottle, Calgary, AB, Canada. Pale amber, artificial sweet aroma. Sweet flavour, though faint, and metallic hops come out at the end. Not my favourite red ale.
