COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A classic unfiltered German style wheat beer with a spicy clove-like, banana bouquet and flavour from the Weinstephan yeast strain. Malty and lightly acidic making this one very refreshing. Garnish with lemon. Prosit!

Draft at brewpub. About a finger of white head. Appearance is an unfiltered yellow/orange. Smell is bananas, wheat and citrus, but the lemon garnish masks the smell some. Taste is banana, lemon and wheat. Very zesty. Palate is medium with lots of carbonation. Otherall, tangy.

Hazy orange, thin to no head. Sweet mango and banana flavour with a serious banana aroma.

My Bottom Line:
Honeyed bananas are bothered by green peppers in this sweet and muddled Weizen.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam surrounds the opaque beige yellow.
-Wheat stands out by doesnít work that well with the ample residual sugars (for the style).
-The mouthfeel is not that refreshing due to these dextrins.
-Herbal hops are tasted alongside these green peppers.

On tap at Artisan Cafť and Brewpub, in Dalhousie

On tap at the brewpub (they listed their seasonal as a wheat beer... Iím assuming itís this one). Nice, orange color, quite hazy, with a small head and no lacing. Very nice aroma... the wheat is there, but citrus as well and something else pleasant that I canít distinguish. Smooth on the palate - nice carbonation. Flavor fell a little short of what I expected, but itís still a fairly good wheat beer whose flavor doesnít diminish too quickly.

The other seasonal available at the brewhouse (the first being the Oktoberfest)-- and this is the better choice IMHO. On the board, this is titled "Weizen Wheat". It appears as a deep bronzy golden, hazy, with a big dense white head leving plenty of lace. Huge estery banana and spice aroma. The palate is bursting with estery wheatiness, banana, cloves-- all the things you look forward to in an excellent hefe. This beer was the standout of the night by a longshot!

Sampled at the brewpub. Appearance: murky, med. straw with orangey hues. Nose: sour and vinegary at first, then faint malt and some fruity esters of pear and apple. Palate: med.-low carbonation and med. full body. Flav.: citrus and lightly spicey. A bit sweet and tart and somewhat yeasty.
