COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A classic unfiltered German style wheat beer with a spicy clove-like, banana bouquet and flavour from the Weinstephan yeast strain. Malty and lightly acidic making this one very refreshing. Garnish with lemon. Prosit!

The other seasonal available at the brewhouse (the first being the Oktoberfest)-- and this is the better choice IMHO. On the board, this is titled "Weizen Wheat". It appears as a deep bronzy golden, hazy, with a big dense white head leving plenty of lace. Huge estery banana and spice aroma. The palate is bursting with estery wheatiness, banana, cloves-- all the things you look forward to in an excellent hefe. This beer was the standout of the night by a longshot!

A very clean tasting Hefe. Typical cloudyness with a slightly lighter colour than style dictates. It still has the full body required. It has a good balance of clove and banana flavours and aroma with the cloves predominating. Beautiful golden clean hefe that would be closer to Schneiderweiss than Hacker Pfchorr

UPDATED: AUG 12, 2005 Hazy & golden. Nice foamy head. Banana sweetness & candy. Decently bitter taste with the bananas and hints of spice. Nice example of the style. Pumphouse has impressed again. Very refreshing.

Cloudy, light tan. Big banana, allspice and bubblegum aroma. Sweet palate. Even-handed hefeweizen notes – nothing out of the ordinary, but everything you’d expect. Dry, tart finish helps make this a better-than-average example.

Typical banana aroma for a weizen. Banana also present in the mouth, no hop presence though. Generally interesting.

Draft at The Barnyard as "Wheat". Golden yellow with a small creamy white head. Muted yeasty aroma, fruity, diacetyl? Distinctive Pump House yeast character in both the aroma and flavour, fruity notes. Originally wrote that it was not to style, but banana starts to come out a fair bit as it warms up. Did not taste much like a hefeweizen at all at first. Smooth light-medium bodied palate. 6/3-3+/7/3+/14

Draft at brewpub. About a finger of white head. Appearance is an unfiltered yellow/orange. Smell is bananas, wheat and citrus, but the lemon garnish masks the smell some. Taste is banana, lemon and wheat. Very zesty. Palate is medium with lots of carbonation. Otherall, tangy.
