Tipsy_McStager (818), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Nov 19, 2007 Heavy peat, scotch aroma. Pours a dark brown with slight head. Strong peat/smoke flavour, farily one dimensional. Alcohol finish.
radiomgb (1730), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Aug 2, 2008 Clear deep ruby in colour, large and lingering tan coloured head, light lacing. The aroma is of caramel, moderate sweetness, malty with some chocolate. The flavour is malty and quite sweet but at the same time watery and thin. Watery mouthfeel, medium/light body, medium carbonation. Finishes malty and sweet.
This is thin and watery pretty much from start to finish but it is enjoyable. Lacking oomph.
341ml bottle obtained in a trade with OKBeer, thanks Bobby.

rudolf (1547), Buffalo, New York, USA May 11, 2008 Bottle from Gregclow - Thanks! Ruby body, frothy light tan head. Nose is somewhat raisiny, rich meladonins, smoke/light soy. Flavor is rich malt, lots of smoke, sweet caramel. A hint of hops round out the finish. More a smoked than a scotch but nice! guil0000 (43), Quebec, Canada Apr 12, 2008 Poors a nice brownish color, aroma of grapes and small fruit, taste is a little caramel and toffee. Overall very nice beer, one of my favorite from that brewery papat444 (12), St-Constant, Quebec, Canada Mar 4, 2008 Thanks to MMansfield for this one.
Paired with a spicy hamburger.
Aroma: Decent malt aroma.
Appearance: Pours a nice dark brown color with a thick 3 finger head.
Flavor: Malt-like character, slightly bitter with a bit of caramel maybe?
Palate: A roasted like aspect permeates the mouthfeel, very inviting. As it warms, becomes a little more sweet.
Overall: Definitely could have a few of these in a row, alcohol is subdued. Solid offering, finished easily & it’s a good flavorful brew, perfect for a winter afternoon.
glennmastrange (392), hobe sound, Florida, USA Jan 25, 2008 Bottle. Moderate malt notes of grain and caramel, light hop notes of herbs, light dough for the yeast, with butterscotch, brown sugar and vanilla in the background. Head is small, wispy, white with good lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear brown. Flavor is lightly sweet and moderately acidic to start, then finishes lightly bitter. Palate is light to medium, watery, and has a lively carbonation. A good beer, but I didn’t find anything unique in it that would make me think this a Scottish Ale. Not that I know what defines a Scottish Ale
