On tap at the brewpub on 10/14/07: Clear amber copper with a wispy-lacing light tan head. Aroma of lightly sweet and toasty caramel malt. Body starts about average and quite drinkable with a touch of sweet caramel malt and grapefruity hops toward a crisp, bittersweet finish. A decent amber.

Finish is lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Rudimentary amber ale, but striking red color (befitting the theme of this brewpub).

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tap at the brewpub - a very malty amber ale, so much so that it is hard to even notice those hops trying to break through - very sweet, nutty, with touches of nutmeg and other spices (this makes things a little more interesting) - the boiled vegetable character I noticed in their IPA is even more noticeable here, and it really detracts from my enjoyment of the beer.
