500ml bottle. Clear amber colour with a one finger white head. Aroma: malt, caramel, citrus fruity hops. Taste: citrus fruit, peach, sweet caramel malt, light bitterness, finish wasnít that bitter either. Medium body, oily texture. Bitters arenít usually my thing but I liked this one, though it felt more like a golden ale to be honest. Either way, a good, drinkable beer, albeit nothing spectacular.

Bottle from Waitrose. Beautiful deep brown/red beer, clear, small, tight off white head. Not much of an aroma, light malt/caramel. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth drinking archetypal bitter, malt, slight toffee, slight fruit. Ends up being much more than the sum of itís parts and really rather good.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Benís place. Thanks Rotem for this bottle! Clear amber. Aroma of malt, some floral and fruity hops, a bit skunky, and a bit of butter. Sweet flavor with malt, a bit of caramel, and bitterish floral hops, slightly skunky. Light to medium-bodied.

Cask at the Swan, Broadway. Chestnut with a thick cream-coloured head. Good rich mouthfeel. Toffee flavours with orange and a little earthy bitterness. Top-notch traditional-ish bitter. Lovely. Purity really are very good.

Bottle. Pours chestnut brown. Aroma of caramel, bread and grass. Malty taste with some hop bitterness. Steady beer, nothing too memorable.

UPDATED: MAY 17, 2016 One of the better bitters I have had from cask. Flat palate as expected from cask, but a nice taste and very little aroma to be detected. Is the name also a Pere Ubu reference by chance?

Cask at Royal Navy Volunteer, Bristol. Appearance: medium white head, amber colour, clear, good lacing. Aroma: a mix of malts and hops, but not very strong. A little bit of bubble gum. Taste: from lightly sweet to bitter. Palate: light to medium body, bitter finish, flat. Overall: alright beer, but nothing special.

Tasty amber ale. Great caramel, citrus and fruity notes. Long, balanced hoppy finish. Complex and extremely drinkable.
