3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
50cl bottle. Pours dark chestnut with a red hue. The nose has dark chocolate and biscuits, some marmalade strangely. The taste has more of the same, special emphasis on the dark chocolate but there’s still some biscuit and there’s also a persistent liquorice note. The palate has a slightly rugged but good balance - medium to full bodied then growing through the big crunchy texture and finishing fairly elegantly, actually. Overall, good beer.

UPDATED: APR 27, 2013 Dark, almost black body. Off white thin head. Slightly fruity aroma. Easy to drink, not too heavy in body. Medium mouthfeel and liquorice to the fore. Dry, pleasant, not quenching.

6 SImple malty aroma, a nice roast. Some sharpness.
4 Dark, brief head.
6 Slightly minerally, but apart from that a nice rich malty taste.
4 Soft palate, carbonation low. Black tea in the finish.
13 It’s tasty, but no wow for Phil. Anna likes it better and wants to give it more points. Sh elikes the roast in the finish and the chocolae in the mouth. Get your own account!!!!
