albertane (300), Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England Jul 15, 2008 Cask at the Derby Beer Festival. This amber beer is dominated by a nutty flavour. It was perfectly enjoyable but I found it a bit one-dimensional.
hughie (2254), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Jul 12, 2008 Cask, gravity, at Derby Festival ’08, indeed my beer of the festival. Amber. Toasty aroma which led one of my companions, with considerable eloquence, to suggest that it resembled the inside of a whisky barrel. Sour, ashy taste with the sharp taste of walnuts. Strongly bitter. One of the tastiest beers of the day, but with the lowest gravity. Good one. Fin (2357), Merton, Oxfordshire, England May 17, 2008 Bottle kindly picked up for me by friend Trev, cheers mate!, consumed 16-05-08 Good looking mid-amber beer with a small head. Good bitterness, malty, quite tangy but it’s the bitterness and dry finish that are the hallmarks of this very decent session beer johndoughty (1660), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England Mar 8, 2008 Bottle. Yellow and quite bitter. Poured with a small head. Some hops but nothing overpowering. A nice session bitter. Ungstrup (11378), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jan 7, 2008 Cask at GBBF 2007. A copper colored beer with no head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel and a slight touch of hops, while the flavor is plainly sweet malty with notes of caramel.
