Cask (Bridge Tavern, Newcastle) - Golden in colour. Elderflower, lemon and biscuity malt in the aroma. Elderflower and biscuity malt are in the taste. Not bad, but I love beers elderflower in it and I was hoping for a bit more from this one.

Cask conditioned handpump Sun Hardingstone 24/12/13. A blonde beer with a white head. Nice sweetness from the elderflower in this but also a light fruity note. All works well and is easy to guzzle. As good an elderflower infused beer as Iíve had in ages.

Rake. Cask. Clear golden beer, residual white head. Palate is light, semi dry and mildly crisp. Light pale malt. Elderflower is well integrated and not cloying. Finishes light and dry. Refreshing easy drinking.

Hand-pulled half-pint on 6th Dec 13 in The Crown Inn, Oakengates. Golden brew with lemon notes all over the place, couldnít pick up any Elderberry esters or flavours like the brewery claim is around this brew. Too many citrus flavours for me. Medium bodied, but I donít like citrus, golden brews and this is certainly one of those, really pleased I only had a half. Scored objectively (mostly).

Bottle from Deli in Llangollen. Pale gold with a moderate white head and a light sparkle. Unmistakable fresh elderflower aroma and flavour. Some lemon, white pepper and lemongrass comes through behind, leading to a middling bitterness in the lightly dry finish. It could be criticised by some for the beer playing second fiddle to the elderflower, but I like elderflower so that is fine by me! A lovely light summer refresher.

Pours a clear yellow/gold with a very thin white head. Elderflower dominates the aroma. Taste also has a nice amount of elderflower present.

50cl bottle from Vinomondo. I enjoyed this but the thing that kind of lurked in the back of my head was that Iíd rather be drinking a Williams Birds n Bees. Anyway, itís blonde with a distinct elderflower note on the nose which hides a little of the sweet malt. However, this doesnít come through quite enough on the taste and I generally feel this needs more hoppy bitterness to be a true summer ale. Good though.

I really wanted to like this as I miss beer with Elderflower in it. This wasnít quite as good as I expected. The aroma great, smell sof elderflower and summer mornings. The flavour though was a little too bitter for me. Zest bitter. Like boiled lemons and mandarins. Some hops come through. Light and airy without being watery. Get the bitterness sorted and I might get it again.

(Cask): Clear pale golden colour with white head, moderate carbonation. Aroma of elderflower, tropical fruits, hints of citrus hops. A nice fruity taste, peaches and mandarin spring to mind. Hints of citrus in the finish. Light, refreshing beer.
