COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Baltic Porter has become a forgotten style over the years in the craft beer scene. As with any industry, things are always evolving. This style has become the "Imperial Porter", often made with ale yeast. What we did is we joined forces with the pioneers of the local craft beer scene, Heavy Seas Brewing Company, and resurrected the Baltic Porter. Using a lager yeast strain, we conditioned this beer for over a month to yield a smooth, velvet-like mouthfeel on the palate. Some would so it’s so smooth, it often feels like it was served on a nitrogen based draft line. Pitch black in color with a frothy, macchiato colored head, this deceptive brew will offer gentle notes of dark chocolate, charred grain, espresso, and vanilla. Searching for a dark beer? UPDATED: SEP 14, 2013 Draft served in a pint glass at the restaurant (Frisco Taphouse; Columbia, MD). Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, light milk chocolate, some dark fruit and vanilla. Taste is light milk chocolate sweetness and roast. Medium body, average carbonation, great velvety soft texture with sweet roast finish. Solid heavier-then-average porter, the softness was my favorite part.

The naming was a bit confusing - I sat down at Frisco Tap House and Brewery in Columbia, Maryland, and nobody explained to me that the in-house brews were under the Push brand - the microbrewery at Frisco brewery is not named Frisco.
All of that out of the way - the beer was a solid, malty porter. Nice sweetness, only a little bitterness. Nothing amazing, but a smooth-drinking, enjoyable beer. Went very nicely with a blue cheese and bacon burger.
