Keg of this on at Foersters in Berlin. Hazy reddish copper with fulsome foam, whiffs of light caramel and orange wedges. Light tangy sweetness balanced by earthy-spicy bitterness, lingering zest. And then the keg was gone.

TAR (2518) - Lafayette, Colorado, USA - NOV 22, 2014
Draught at Zoiglstubn zum Glöckerlbauer: Hazy orange-golden. Nonuniform bubbles comprise the broken head. Clean but mellow aromas of honeysuckle, minerals, cookie, orangey fruitiness, and touches of pecan and sulfur. Loose prickles of carbonation. Thin-bodied. Opens with a soft and rounded fruitiness coupled with deep toast, silky toffee-kissed pecans and an earthy breadcrusty sharpness. Sassy hop spice, as subtle as it is, meshes nicely with the mineralic grip. Nectar-laden hoppiness teeters on the fringe of "greenness" and accentuates the slick fruitiness, yet is tempered by a twinge of minerals. Toasty hay exudes alongside a perceptible Cara-malt dimension which generates a gentle punch of poundcake-like melanoidins. Dusty yeast looms throughout. Honeysuckle, lemony hop acids, and bright marmalade adorn the base of toasted bread in the well-integrated finish. A solid zoiglbier with good balance and cleanness. Just needs a tad more intensity to really shine. Good.

Draft at Zoiglstubn zum Glöckerlbauer. Lightly hazed orange-amber body.
Quiet nose is malty and slightly yeast. Sugar cookie, orange jelly, lemon-pepper. Medium body, sweet, lightly bitter, somewhat raw / yeast / doughy in the mouth. Rough and sharp carbonation, starchy finish. It’s not going to draw you in since it lacks the richness of true Zoiglbier, but it’s an easy quaffer still.

8,9,9,9,8,9 - 8,85

Bottle by 031212. Nose of light yeast and straw, pale malt with very faint grass and some nice Landbier cellar. Pours transparent orange with a soapy yellow-tan head. Taste is lightly sweet with light, adroit bitterness and even a zing of tang. Oily, crisp, fruity, grainy with a touch of booze and spice heating the back end. Some caramel and scratchy herbal hops. Light-medium body, really a raw and variable thing.

Maria (10176) - Thisted, DENMARK - MAY 15, 2011
From tap at the brewpub. It’s slightly hazy, dark red copper with a creamy head, and the aroma has notes of dark syrup, caramel and fruit. The sweet flavour has notes of roasted malt, caramel, dark syrup, light salt licorice and fruit. The finish is dry.

MoritzF (8590) - Bochum, GERMANY - SEP 3, 2010
(bottle) Not really “dunkel”, slightly hazy, light-amber colour with a big and slightly tanned foamy head. Discreet aroma: slightly biscuity cara-malty nose with notes of herbal and slightly citric hops. Sweet and shy bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Soft cara-malty base with bready and herbal accents; medium-dry and a bit slim malty and subtle fruity finish with a delicate bitterness. Still a decent Kellerbier. 18.VIII.10
