COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Smooth in texture and rich in taste, this traditionally inspired English Ale is celebrated for its classic roasted malt flavor and amber color. English East Kent Goldings hops give our Alehouse ESB a spicy aroma.

Light brown gold color, medium head. A light bodied ale. Milder flavor, nice mild hop bitterness. Nice malts, slightly sweet. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter

decent beer, but not very bitter like it should be. Good malt presence, but a boring finish. my sample was old, so that maybe the reason it wasn’t that good

kind of BORING, but went fine with food. malty, but thin body. below average hop quantity.

Indra (2323) - Overland Park, Kansas, USA - AUG 2, 2003
Faint aroma, some spicy, herbal British hop, orange citrus and lightly sweet maltiness. Dark amber color, some sedimentation, with a fading head. Flavor profile was a little plain, definite Goldings hop flavors and a touch of toasty, caramel malt sweetness. Finish sees a slight amount of hop bitterness, some tea leaf flavors. I didn't find this one very inspiring.

Pyramid Ales--Alehouse ESB Ale--Brown 1998 12 oz. Bottle. 5.60% ABV (3.25 / 5.0) ESB--Good Malt, but a touch fruity. Pyramid Ales--Alehouse ESB Ale--Purple 1999 12 oz. Bottle. 5.60% ABV (3.0 / 5.0) ESB--Light clear caramel color. Pours easy due to light body. Light tasty malt body missing rich graininess of best ESB’s. Slightly fruity, but pleasingly so. Very mild hop character. Sampled 11/7/1998.

I expected this to be better. Word on the street has Pyramid in some financial trouble. I hope we don’t lose another brewery.
