2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Past the BB date, but who cares, itís not an IPA.
A: Pours an apri-- Iím not going to say it. Iím just going to say it pours a golden orange color. There are a few specks of yeast sediment floating around in there, too. The head is a frothy-looking eggshell shade one fingers high. Retention is low and thereís minimal - if any - lacing left on the glass.
S: Apricots aplenty. Thatís good and all, but the fact they seem a bit sweet and extract-y is a turnoff. Another turnoff: the dregs seem to have a cheesy aroma to it. íCourse, I still poured them in the glass anyways, because Iím a boss like that.
T: Sweet apricots start and finish this one off. Did I mention sweet? The only thing to break up the monotony is a touch of back end tartness. On the plus side, I donít pick up much cheesiness in the flavor, so that good. I guess.
M: High carbonation and an off-dry finish do an okay job of scrubbing away some of the palate sweetness. Still too sweet, but not as stupidly cloying as it could have been. Not particularly easy to drink.
O: Meh. How many different ways can you say íchick beerí?

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from bottle. Aroma of apricot jam and wheat. Cloudy gold with white head. Apricot flavor goes well with the dry wheat. Pretty good summer drink.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Arpicot syrup-y aroma. Same semi-artificial apricot flavor, with a sweet, caramel, light grainy malt flavor. Kind of an alco-pop; Not bad, though.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle from notes. Pours a hazy golden/light amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have apricots, wheat malts, some creaminess to it, the apricots have a mildly tart character to the flavor. Nothing is bad with this, but I wouldnít revisit this either.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Reviewed from notes.
I had this in a pint glass every time Iíve had it.
The appearance was a filtered looking orange to brown in color with a one finger white foamy head that lasts for about a minute and delicately dies into the body. The lacing is light but its there trying to spiderweb but slides for the most part.
The smell was apricot and delicately backed up by some wheatiness to it.
The taste was apricot sweet with the wheat coming back to assist in the taste. There is an apricot aftertaste and a dry finish.
On the palate, it sat about a medium and was fairly sessionable. The carbonation seemed okay for the style and for me.
Overall, Iím pretty sure Pyramid did what they wanted to as far as making an Apricot Ale. Try it if you see it, however, Iíve had this with plain cheesecake once and that was a stellar dessert, though I was extremely full afterwards.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at the Yard House, Houston. An unclear orange golden beer with just about no head. Thereís lots of canned peaches on the nose, not so much apricots I think. Orange peel hints too. Tasteful apricot candy flavor with some canned peaches and orange peel. Medium body and a bit hard carbonation, quite dry. Peaches and syrup finish, still far from sweet and sticky. Sort of quenching this one, but also rather boring. 140516

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle. Hazy golden pour with an off white head. Nice apricot aroma and nice apricot flavor. Not overpowering with just the right amount of apricot. One of the better beers I have had this month!

Palate affected by head cold, but mostly unimpressed with this. Faint fruit flavor, weak body, dull appearance. not much going on here.

1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
Bottle: Pyramid, your Apricot Ale... Woof! Off-orange body with a fat haze & a wispy, meager "head" thatís gone in moments. Artificial aroma & taste with medicinal, chalky apricot... Actually, the apricot itself is difficult to discern. Just a generic, forced fruity citrus note that barely peaks over the medicinal, chalky, vitamin-like nature of the flavoring. Pale malty sugars & astringent metallic notes. Even some musk. This beer is the opposite of good. Quite hard to drink, actually. Lingering aftertaste of Flintstoneís vitamins & sidewalk chalk, no chasers allowed. Garbage.
