elelwarren (132), SF Bay area, California, USA Nov 25, 2007 Tasted at Pyramid’s Berkeley brewpub as a taster set w/5 other beers. Beautiful in the glass- Cappucino-like thick head contrasting with dark brew below. Scent, though was of instant coffee-thin, unpleasant, almost medicinal. best part of the beer is how it feels in the mouth- as smooth as cream, with tiny nitogen bubbles accentuating the deep roasts. The beer then goes downhill. Sour at the end, with no more depth. A quick flavor. I kept sipping just for the wondrously smooth mouthfeel. CapFlu (3254), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Mar 11, 2005 (Draught) Brown bubbly head with an opaque body. Coffee and caramel nose. Very roasted maltiness in flavour with keen coffee notes. The cocoa powder makes an appearance shortly in the finish. Good. bitter (1137), Henderson, Nevada, USA Jun 24, 2004 on draft at berkeley: pours with a nice thick creamy head, maybe a little darker then guinness and head a little darker. coffee notes in the nose. taste somewhat the same choc malt and slight bittering hops....not nearly as big as i had hopped. thougtht by the nose it was going to be something special but fell short of my expectations.
