Bottle. Ruby-brown beer with a tan head. Malt and light roast aroma with light cocoa. malt and light citrus flavor with light toffee. Medium bodied. Malt and light toffee lingers with citrus.

Bottle:   Deep amber, slightly dull from some sediment, large frothy sandy head, little lacing.   Soft pine and pith nose.   Has a slight rye aspect?   Sweet bready malts, almost whole wheat, with some sweet citrus peel and pith.   Not what I was expecting for an Irish Ale.   Backside seems a little peaty.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Moderate breadiness on the finish, touch of caramel, mild peat, pale toasted malts, with soft citrus peel and pith bitterness.   Not bad, but pretty pedestrian.

Dark reddish amber in color, clear with a thin head. Nice malt Irish flavor. Decent amount of hops. Nice easy drinking Red Ale.

Bottle from the Spring mixer. Nose is extremely yeasty, and actually ends up being closer to a saison than anything else I’ve smelled recently. Taste is a little sour up front, but then finishes off with some toasty bread malty sweetness. Odd beer.

Type: 12-oz. bottle Glass: Karl Strauss pint glass From: VONS in Normal Heights (San Diego, Calif.) Price: $13.97 for a summer variety 12-pack Purchased: March 30, 2013 Consumed: April 10, 2013 Misc.: N/A Poured a reddish brown nut color with 1-2 fingers of khaki tan head that dissipated almost right away. Minimal wet lacing on the side, poor retention on the top on the way down. Smelled very malty right from the beginning. Got dark fruits and malts full nuts, toast and caramel. Seemed to be some faint bitter notes in there late. Reminded me slightly of a Newcastle. Tasted a lot more bland than the smell. Still malty, but not as flavorful as the smell. Toast, nutty and faint caramel. Medium-to-light body. Thin texture. Average carbonation. Longer smooth finish. The definition of an average beer.

expired from bi-lo, nice smell, almost of ginger...but fairly mild...hints of wild/sour fermentation in the smell and taste...good!!...crisp carbonated finish with lingering sourness that is just right
