COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Chai Weat is an unfiltered, fusion-inspired brew designed to be a unique alternative to commonplace wheat beers. With essence of Chai tea, noble hops and gracious amounts of sweet caramel malts, the result is a well rounded, sweet, and robust wheat beer, distinctive in its class.

Pours a hazy golden orange color with a medium white head that leaves spotty lacing. Smells of wheat, spices and tea. Tastes of wheat, chai tea and a hint of caramel. Mouthfeel is medium and chewy with good carbonation. Overall the wheat mixed with chai tea ended up working well, pretty tasty.

I got this from a friend who bought it from a store that carries mostly “out-dated” beer. This pours a murky, dirty orange color with a foamy, off-white head. There is mostly the aroma of oranges mixed with spice. The taste is a little unusual as I have never had chai flavored beer before. It’s a heavier wheat beer with fairly bold spices. It leaves a lingering after taste that invites you to take another sip. Not to bad overall.

Bottle. Pours a clear, dark golden color with an OK white head. Nice, wheat aroma with a hint of berries and some spice. Smooth taste with some malt and spice. Hint of blueberries in the flavor as well. Interesting beer.

Sample at the Seattle brewpub. The beer pours a cloudy orange color with a medium white head that diminishes slowly. Spotty lacing. Aroma of wheat and spice. Light-bodied with flavors of malt, chai tea and wheat. The finish is wheaty with s mildly spiced aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Pours a hazy orange with a bit of off-white head. Smell is butt-sweat, giving way to a bit of barnyard funk. Taste is initially similar to carbonated water, but again has some funk behind it, slightly sour with some citrus-fruit rind in the background. fairly full mouthfeel, which is interesting. Leaves me feeling like I just ate a grapefruit.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle from the winter pack. Pours to a hazy orange with a quickly dissipating small white head. Aroma is has a bash of spice, including the sweet spice chai. Flavor is effervescent and puts the spice on the front of the mouth to the back. dominated by the spice. No real sense of a wheatiness like other hefeweizen, due to the spice. Has a fizzy, oily feel, and a decent lingering chai flavor. Unique, and rather enjoyable.

Poured from the winter pack. Aroma is very intense of spice, like tea. Flavor is also dominated by the spice. I guess a basic wheat is a good canvas. This beer is interesting. Burps up with less spices which is nice.

Easy to drink. A little on the light side. Only a hint of Chai spices. Nice on a winter day. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle from the winter variety pack bought at Super 1 in CDA, ID. Pours cloudy orange with a medium white collapsing head. Aroma is full of Chai tea spices, apples. Taste is sweet and savory; reminds me of certain pumpkin beers with those spices. Body is thin, a little watery. A nice effort from Pyramid. This brewery was really going downhill for awhile there. I’ve had a number of pretty damn good beers lately in these seasonal variety packs. I’m glad they’ve turned themselves around.

Bottle from the Winter sampler. Hazy light auburn pour supporting a short, rich and soft white head. Good lacing. Mildly spicy aroma. Chai note apparent once you seek it out. Modest malt up front with some spicy and herbal warmth giving this brew a nice complexity without overpowering the flavor. Restrained hops. Some lemon zest and a touch of milk chocolate. Rich, silky texture and a medium long and smooth finish. I was afraid the chai would come across as forced and gimmicky but it was nicely executed. A pleasant surprise.

Bottle, cloudy off white color. Strong chai nose. Taste is sweet, messy and not chai or beer. Drinkable, but just barely.
