3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sample at the Seattle brewpub. Dark brown color with some amber around the edges and a medium light beige head that recedes slowly. Stringy lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of toasted malt and hops. Medium body with flavors of piney hops and sweet malt. The finish is malty up front with a short resiny hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from the bottle. I think Iíve had this on tap at the now defunct Sacramento store.: ( poured dark, brownish reddish. Aroma is of dank hopPS. Thick head and good lacing. Flavour shows the roasted grains in a way that is not reminiscent of most CDAs. This is much different than a CDA. NOT bad at all though just different.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark and roasty but with a noticeable hop bite -- must be a black IPA. Well, brown anyway. Oddly fizzy.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma is dominated by hops and a very subtle chocolate smell. Dark body with a thin foam rim. Very dark flavors of black patent malt, cocoa, caramel and strong bittering hops. Overall, the black ipa bitterness is very subtle, but there. I;d give this a B+ rating.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle best by 06/07/12 $1.69. Dark brown-red, definitely not black at all. decent head. Smells like it was dry hopped but it is not in the least bit impressive. Taste is completely average. Very boring malts with a hint of hops and nothing more. This is probably the lamest black or dark IPA Iíve ever had. It wasnít bad or offensive it was just completely mediocre.

Bomber from Saarís. Clear, deep, reddish black pour with a short beige head with good retention and leaving heavy lace. Nose is fresh hops all the way, with undertones of dark-roasted malt. Medium body with fine, mild carbonation and a touch of oiliness, particularly near the finish. Dark chocolate, pine and citrus hops, some charcoal and walnuts. Finish is medium, bittersweet and dry, with more charcoal and some lemony tartness. Nothing remarkable, but very solid and enjoyable.
