3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This is certainly on the thick side, especially for pyramid. Chewy and a bit sweet, the flavor is decent but run of the mill and surpringly tastes a bit like a brown ale.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. bottle- Pours reddish black with a one finger head that reduces quickly. Aroma is wheat and roasted malt, caramel, but too subdued. The taste is the same, only more intense, not too bad, it has a nice roasty caramel malt flavor, and the wheat really mellows everything out. Not an award winner, but tasty.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle from the Wheat Beer Variety Pack. Expired on July 21, hopefull it hasn’t deteriorated too much. Pours opaque brown with a medium collapsing beige head that falls into a resilient collar. Aroma consists of caramel, doughy bread, faint banana. Taste is...not very much like a dunkelweizen. It starts out sweet but quickly turns bitter. The clovey phenols and banana esters I love so much about this style are MIA or at the most, very faint. That being said, it’s not a bad-tasting beer, and I’m not rating to style, so it still deserves a 7 in flavor. Highly carbonated with a medium body. It’s a decent beer but it’s pretty far from Bavarian, not unlike their flagship Hefe.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the brewery near the waterfront. Apparently they put the beer on a tap line that used to be used for their root beer because that is all I can smell. I’m convinced that their is a quality dunkel hiding behind the smell, but it is tough to find. Dark and a little sweet. I don’t really notice the wheat character very much.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from BevMo. Dark roasty nose. Smells a little on the sweet side. Sweet and roasty flavors. Not very reminiscent of a true dunkelweizen, as the yeast character is pretty much non-existent.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appearance was reddish brown with rocky tannish diminishing 2 finger head, spotty lacing. Aromas are deep roast chocolate, caramel, toffee, slight cherry from yeasts, and the wheat. Taste was chocolate, coffee, wheat, lemon, grapefruit. Palate was smooth light CO2 with light-meduim body, then a wheaty dryish citrus finish. If the body and finish was better...

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On draft. Pours reddish chestnut colour with just a dusting of beige head. Wheat aroma with faint roastiness, chocolate, toffee. Light and airy, but leaves a foul aftertaste. Disappointing.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A - Pours a dark brown color with a finger of frothy tannish head. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some lacing.
S - Aroma is a mix of roasted malts with a touch of chocolate, with some wheat, with a bit of citrus hops, and some yeast.
T - Starts off with some roasted dark malt flavors with some wheat and a bit of citrus hop. Through the middle, some yeast flavor comes through with a touch of dark fruit. The finish is a mix of wheat, roasted malts, a touch of chocolate, and some yeast.
M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry and roasted finish.
D - Very drinkable. Good overall balance, but a touch thin and could have used a bit more kick.
