A coffeeish character, dark stout that you can drink with a danish!

Holy crap! I have just found my new favorite brew for in the morning. This tastes just like an espresso but with carbonation. Found this in a sampler but want to find this in a 1/2 barrel keg to keep around the house on tap. Drank the bottles in the sampler but would also like to try this with eggs and bacon tomorrow morning. Would also go good with pancakes, biscuts and gravy, and even cereal. Why is it all the best beers are so dang hard to get?!?!?! Oh, wait, I know the answer to that... The distributors in my area suck ass!

Strong coffee flavor and aroma. After slamming a 22 ozr of this I had a beer buz and a coffee rush. This is a perfect replacement for my morning coffee. Good aftertaste, nice feel in your mouth. Nice head.

This beer really lived up to its name. It was rich and strong like a good espresso, and it was creamy and smooth like a good stout. Not too sweet, and just the right amount of roasted flavor! Definitely a winner!

Thick, dark, very coffeeish, imagine that. Quite good, as a life long stout lover, another winner to add to my master list. Malts, hops well represented.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance The beer pours a super deep brown-nearly pitch black color with a two finger head of tan colored foam. The head is fairly thick and has a good level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a ton of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell The aroma of the brew is big of a roasted malt and espresso smell as may be expected from its style. Along with these aromas comes smells of sweetness with some more cream and caramel like aromas which give it a nice sweet coffee smell overall. Taste The taste begins with a roasted malt taste with a little bit of a coffee taste upfront and a moderately strong sweeter caramel and sweet cream taste. A little bit of chocolate is there as well, with this fading from the taste and being replaced by more roast and a fairly substantial rise in the coffee flavors. With the increase in the coffee and a little bit of an earthy flavor coming to the taste, one is left with a still rather moderately sweetened but slightly bitter cappuccino like flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel- The body of the beer is quite a bit thicker for a brew of only 5.6 % abv with a carbonation level that is on the lower side. For the sweeter coffee and roasted flavors of the brew the feel was very nice, accentuating the more coffee dessert like quality to the brew, but yet still maintaining a great level of drinkability. Overall- I rather enjoyed this brew as it had a moderate abv., but had a good flavor which makes it a very nice and easy drinking coffee stout.

Bottle from a winter mix pack. Pours a very dark brown color with a moderate light brown head on there. Nose is pretty coffee laden with roasting to it as well. I find the taste to be a bit bitter, and has a similar taste as black coffee. Slightly sweet finish, but definitely a coffee beer.

Had this one in Berkeley. This is a rating by memory. Good colour, dark and deep. Nice roasted scent with hints of bitter tang. Taste was malty with deep coffee/burnt malt taste. Finishes with slightly sweet ending.

Dark ruby/cola colored with a bit of brown head. Aroma is smooth coffee and mild cocoa.Taste is the same, with a very slightly bitter coffee edge. Very drinkable, and clean on the palate.
