The standard by which all other wheat beers are judged. Our deliciously deranged American-Style Hefeweizen is an award winning take on this Bavarian classic. This refreshingly unfiltered wheat ale delivers a distinctively smooth flavor worth sharing with friends.

355ml bottle into a weizen glass; served cold. Aroma: Sour and yeasty. A little citrus, like tangerine or mandarins. Appearance: Very hazy, opaque, sunburst body with a quickly-dissipating white head. Taste: Very very strong wheat flavor. No spice or fruit like a witbier, but also no cloves or banana or other typical hefe flavors. The hefeweizen label was somewhat misleading, but it is still tasty. Palate: Light-medium body with moderate-high effervescence. Finish is moderately long and alllllllllllllllll wheat. Overall: A good one for sure. Surprised! Simple, straightforward, and satisfying.

Slight lemony sweetness, grainy, pours a straw color with a touch of orange, cloudy with low head retention great lacing. Smooth and creamy to a tang bite at the end. Grassy, grainy, good carbonation some sweetness

Misses the mark for this German style of wheat beer by a mile. Aroma: Wheaty graininess, low spiciness. Very much missing the rich, strong banana esters and clove phenols that define this style. Appearance: Slightly hazy medium gold. Low loosely formed white head dissipates immediately. Wrong for style - a good hefeweizen has a creamy, long lasting big head - - wheat does that (usually). Taste: Again, totally lacking the yeast-derived complexity of banana/clove/etc., dominated by bland bready wheat flavor. Faint lemon. Low bitterness. Moderate malt sweetness. Palate: Finish is fairly dry. Carbonation moderate. Should be high to íspritzyí for a hefeweizen. Medium light body. Overall: A 2-dimensional cardboard cutout of a typically rich, interesting style (tastes only slightly better than cardboard, as well).

Poured into weizen glass. A cloudy orange with little head and minimal lace, really almost none of both. Low co2. Aroma of wet bread. Flavor is soft, you can taste the wheat on the draw and I pick up some banana on the finish that seems to fade back to wheat and than a heavier banana. Not bad in any way but not a standout among the more stronger Germanís on the same shelf.

Bottle from Rythmn and Booze. "The standard by which all other wheat beers are judged", so says the label. Well thatís immediately got on my nerves. This is a decent enough beer, albeit a bit thin, but pack it in with the big claims. You donít endear yourself to anyone that way. Mind you, it was a quid. So who gives a shit?

Bottle from Beers of Europe, Kings Lynn. Pours out a cloudy yellow colour with a good sized white head. Light fruity, citrus wheat aroma. Moderately sweet, average carbonation.

Cloudy orange. Light body with little carb. Tastes like a weak and poorly made hefe. I would not recommend.

Hazy golden color with white head. Not much nose, mild toasted bread flavors. An average wheat beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Rhythm & Booze, Ripon. Looks more like a standard lager than a wheat beer. Not much flavour to speak of really. A poor effort.
