The standard by which all other wheat beers are judged. Our deliciously deranged American-Style Hefeweizen is an award winning take on this Bavarian classic. This refreshingly unfiltered wheat ale delivers a distinctively smooth flavor worth sharing with friends.

This is not the best wheat beer I have had ...by quite some distance. Does have a nice bready aroma but that is about it ( I wish they would be a little more adventurous with their hopping in this brew). I had to put a lemon in it to make it better.

UPDATED: MAY 2, 2004 Light cloudiness; deep yellowish, gold-orange. Thin, fading head. Lively carbonation; thin and light texture. Couldn't really find the typical banana and clove. More like an "American Wheat" than a Hefeweizen. Light malts, slightly sticky. Mild bitterness (herbal). Finished dry on the tongue and cloying in the throat. Pinch of citrus, but falls short. Kind of bland and boring.

This beer just flat out needs some character. Nearly non-existant nose with watered down maltiness.Maybe a little something can be coaxed out at the bottom of the glass but this was definetly one of the worst wheat’s i’ve ever had.

Just not what I expected. Overmalted and got downright grody after a couple. Looked pretty good and smelled pretty good though. Overall not too bad and not too good.

It was good. not exceptional looking, and slightly over more malt then i would have liked. nothing exceptional but a good beer. i had it after the hacker-pschor hefeweizen which was much better

As the label says, this beer is cloudy and cool. This was actually a great hefeweizen. Very smooth and creamy, it had the funk factor of a true hefe. This was nearly as good as the hefeweizens I have had on tap, and this came from a bottle. Pyramid did a fine job on this one!!

cloudy, honey colour, spicy (?) but quite unpleasant

It’s decent, but better hef’s have been done. I find this one a little too bitter and ’empty tasting’ for a hef - try red hook, or hacker pschorr weiss.
