The standard by which all other wheat beers are judged. Our deliciously deranged American-Style Hefeweizen is an award winning take on this Bavarian classic. This refreshingly unfiltered wheat ale delivers a distinctively smooth flavor worth sharing with friends.

Fine cloudy golden color, very smooth taste, slightly bitter. This is a fine wheat beer but not a true hefeweizen.

Very little yeasty estery twang that is characteristic of most hefes. Light bodied with a slight hop bitterness. I may have to rerate this someday because the bartender put a lemon slice in it without me asking for it.

Really refreshing. Pleasant smell.... almost flowery.... light yet delicious in a true wheat beer way. Can’t go wrong, and it’s not too expensive either. Goody goody.

not a big fan of the hefeweizen style but this seemed ok, not great

Sadly one of the weaker American wheats. Like some other raters stated, this beer lacks the complexity of it’s German counterparts.

Not the best Hefeweizen you’ll drink but it does score points for being one of the first to ressurect the style on US soil.

Try if it’s 95° and the sun is burning. Otherwise: don’t touch it. It’s not a Hefeweizen. It isn’t even very close to beer.

UPDATED: OCT 11, 2004 Update: I'm getting banana in the nose for the first time with this beer. Its mild, and the flavor is very clean and very much in the American wheat vein, with a light citrus zest at the end.
