2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Grainy wheat aroma and flavor. no clove or banana, as is appropriate in an American wheat. Very cloudy. While it is true to style, I find it all together boring.

Boring. Nothing distinguishing or especially memorable. Uni-dimensional hoppiness.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
A decent american-style wheat. Sour, fruity aroma. Not surprisingly, a hazy golden body. Flavors follow the aroma's cue: fruity, sour (slight vinegar edge) and yeasty. Mildly wheaty but no hint of maltiness.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Hazy honey color with a subsiding white frothy head. My first reaction on sniffing this beer was refined/ subdued, there is supposed to be an aroma here just waiting to be unleashed but is kept from doing so. For an unfiltered wheat there is a surprizing lack of flavor, to go along with th lack of aroma. It is crisp and clean but taste like it was made by Miller or any other macro to appeal to the masses.

I tried this brew many years ago (or at least it seems like it) here in Seattle. I was rather disappointed in it's lack of flavor for a hefeweizen. Unforunately, it's served as the "go to" hefe around the Seattle area. Pyramid is capable of much better.

2.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: MAY 20, 2003 Hmmm. I expected a hefe out of this one and got little more than overpriced Budwiser. This seemed to lack the distinct sharpness of traditional German hefeweizen. Kinda tastes like sweat in a bottle, if you ask me. This has to be one of Pyramid's worst. Flavor is bland, and lacking. Aftertaste is malty, but sour. If there was such a thing as a light hefe, then this might be it. I'll stick to Hacker-Pschorr or Paulner- how hefeweizen should taste.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
From bottle at a restaurant, came with a lemon wedge already installed. Cloudy light orange/yellow, small head disappeared quickly. Light body, easy to drink and mine was... well quite lemony, but not much else going on. I've had this on tap in the past and seem to recall enjoying it more. Will have to try a better example of this style, really don't care for the German style (the cloves ruin it for me).

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: MAY 24, 2003 The one I poured had absolutely no head. Aroma of caramel malts, and apples. Very cider like. Nice medium body. Fairly sweet with an apple like finish.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
First off, i wanna know where they got that picture of the Pyramid Hefeweizen, because mine looked pretty pathetic compared to that. On tap at Chili's Bar and Grill in Reseda, CA. It poured a cloudy orange color, just like the color on the inside of an orange. Head is non-existant..something white-like faintly tried to cling to the glass but failed miserably. The aroma is..somewhere...where, i dont know..but it is there...ahhhh, there it is.. wheat, some malt, and thats about it. The taste was strange..its starts off with nothing but a wheat, and malty metallicness to it, and then trangresses to get thinner and thinner as i progressed through my tall sample. Very little to this drink...a thin wheat flavor, a little malt to make for a dry finish, but nothing interesting. I had more fun looking at the cute waitresses...definitely a party beer.
