3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: FEB 27, 2005 Okay, hereís something to get out of the way so thereís no misleading: I drank this straight out of the bottle. So I didnít have much to go on for aroma, head and appearance. Letís just say I was intimidated into forgoing the glass.
Reminds me of Widmer Bros. Heffy with a little bit of citrus added in. Kind of bready and nondescript, except for the aforementioned citrus and fruits that provoked a little bit of thought. Not my style, but I think Iíd keep some handy for the friends. UPDATE - have had several more since and I rather like them, except the one I just had was really watery. Bad batch?

Slightly bland but clean tasting, refreshing hefe. Clean tasting, nice yeasts and some citrus, but flavors were quite mild. Would drink it again if offered, but probably not buy it.

Pours a glowing orange and hay colored, with a quickly dissipating head. A taste of orange citrus, though vanishingly small. Cool and refreshing without being overly complex, would be considered a good table wine if it were a wine. But as it’s a beer, it’s only worth ordering when there’s nothing better available. Still, it’s a solid beer.

Had this on tap at Twisted Kilt in Birmingham, Alabama; enjoyed guzzling this with an Italian Sausage Sandwich while checking out the short skirt on this one chick who said she might be a stripper but then said she wasnít, I donít remember b/c I had drank a few with my younger bro, who was the designated driver, and was also kind enough to pay!
This brew had a great, strong Heffe flavor to it, that made me want to come back for more (or was it just that I wanted to flirt w/the waitress again?).
After that lunch, we drove down to some old property in Helena that our family owns, and we both had to piss like racehorses; we did so, and then checked out the ruins of the house our great-great grandfather built in the late 1800ís, next to the creek near the railroad tracks.
My late grandmother used to tell me there were ghosts there that she hear back in the 1940ís, and that an old lady who used to rent the basement from the 50ís to the late 80ís used to "see spirits" on the property, but I suspect that the only spirits she saw were those of Mr. Jack Daniels and Jim Beam, if you know what I mean.
Anyway, after pissing out this delicious Hefewiezen (you only rent beer, you know), we explored further down the cliff by the creek than we had ever gone before (because our grandmother would start nagging us if we were to go past the rock that looks like a chair, that my grandaddy so eloquently dubbed "the Indian Chair".
All in all, good Hefeweizen, good times, etc.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Amber/blondish in color with a slight haze, white medium head, light acidic aroma. A soft clean taste, with just a hint of hoppiness, went down smooth. It was ok, just lacked a overall thickness.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Noticeably hazy, yellow coloring. Head disappates quickly. Sweet, grassy aroma. Flavor is dominated by yeast and wheat with subtle citrus notes. Grows bitter as beer approaches room temperature. Excellent when served with a slice of lemon.

On tap. This beer has nice orange appearance. Smallish head lasted throughout. Refreshing wheat beer, very smooth and easy to drink.

Good summer beer, but for a good hefeweizen stick with the German offerings.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Good cloudy appearance with an average, yet short lived head. Too much citrus. Lightly swirling the bottom 1/5 of the bottle before pouring does not result in a touch of sweetness on your lips that you get from quality hefeweizens. Finishes nicely.
