3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
I had it with lemon so that does effect the taste but I enjoyed the malty flavor that it had. It didn’t knock my boots off but I would buy more for sure.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Had this at Pour24 at NYNY in Vegas on tap. A pretty typical Hefe Weizen. Nothing out of the ordinary. Creamy white head with a pale body. I would recommend a lemon with this one.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: AUG 22, 2008 this pint poured by ayn rand loving bartender - john’s - steep recommendation. pyramid hefe pours with a riverbed sediment heavy yellowish-orange hue. visually swirling citrus notes darken as outer lights descend through the glass. aroma proclaims divine purpose of the lemon peel - bright and floral and yellow. i sip with high expectancy. the hazy citrus appearance infuses thick clouds of breakfast beverage flavor. i want to drink this beer early in the day - maybe with a coffee and eggs benedict. orangey aftertaste does not offend the initial refreshment or disturb the beer-at-six-AM fantasy. i would drink this beer in the morning before work if i could find the right job. my first - not last - pyramid offering.

2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sample at a beer tasting. Aroma was weak, but hinted of citrus which leaned more toward lemon. Slightly metallic flavor and plenty of citrus that didn’t combine well with the wheat malt. Nice and cloudy.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap Pour at Scarpa’s 2 in ABQ, NM. Served in a pint glass with the traditional lemon slice garnish. Not much head, but the cloudy orange-amber body was a sight for sore eyes. Aroma dominated by the citrus aspect, but a little wheat comes through. No traditional banana here! Flavors also dominated by the lemon/citrus, but more of the wheat/bread, and some spices come out. I do miss the banana evident in other Weizens. Very tasty for an American Hefeweizen... but these boys still have something to shoot for. Cheers!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Wheity hops in aroma and a slight hops with carbonation for the taste. Not bad, but not a great beer either.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
A dry wheat beer with little sweetness and light undertones of fruit. Its lack of body and aroma left me hanging.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Had this one on the Outer Banks. Favorite vacation so far, not my favorite beer. It poured like unfiltered apple juice with a thin head and little to no lacing on the glass. I've mentioned before my problem with bananas so it shouldn't surprise you to know that when i smelled that, it soured me on this beer. However it was mild enough that I was able to discern some other aromas, mango, nutty hops and yeast. It was a thin beer, more fizzy than carbonated and it had a stange pine-y undertone to it. And again, the banana thing. If it wasn't for that, it'd be an easy drinkin light summer beer.

bread in a bottle, yeasty character, which I prefer more in my belgians than in strong dose in a hefe. This one is crisp yet doughy from a bottle. Not sure how they manage that. Kinda like having a tart funnel cake. Despite the grandios pyramids on the label, this one amounts to more like a crop circle of a hefeweizen.
