3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle into lager glass, best before 1/21/2015. Pours slightly hazy orange/amber color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/pine hops and moderate bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange zest, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance, complexity, and robustness of citrus/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Very clean on lager flavors with zero yeast esters present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and fairly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good IPL style. All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of citrus/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Mostly a boring brew. Pours a light gold with a thin yellow tinted head. The aroma is hoppy and a bit fruity with light caramel and toasted bread malts. A bit bland overall with good balance and moderate bitterness.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
I’ll be the first to admit I’m not a fan of lagers; Tasteless fizzy yellow water doesn’t appeal to me. So when a friend handed me a bottle of this, I was highly skeptical at first. A few sips in though and I was pleasantly surprised by this one! Highly drinkable yet with a decent flavor backing to it. Would be great on a hot summer day or while lounging at the beach. Not sure I’d buy it myself, but wouldn’t complain about having it again.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Grapefruit citrus aroma that matches the hop profile. Taste is crisp and refreshing and not overpowering in this lager with more of a bite than standard lagers.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a golden amber color with a one finger white colored foamy head. The head has a decent level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a good level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew has nice notes of tropical fruits of tangerine and mango, along with a blend of hops of a grapefruit and floral nature. Along with these aromas comes a bit of a caramel and bready smell as well as just a hint of a more herbal aroma, which when combined with the rest, produces a very nice aroma overall.
Taste – The taste begins with a tropical fruit flavor mixed with a bit of a doughy taste. The smooth and sweet flavor has a bit of a grapefruit hop at the start, which grows stronger as the taste moves forward. Along with the grapefruit getting stronger, other hop flavors of an herbal and pine nature come to the tongue. The herbal gets somewhat more potent then would be expected, but brings a nice dimension to the brew. Toward the end, the taste develops a more dank tasting hop profile, which is balanced by a little bit of caramel that also arrives on the science and leaves a quite pleasantly hopped moderately malty and smooth flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel- The body of the beer is slightly thicker with a carbonation level that is slightly lower. The thicker body and lower carbonation really allow the more dank hop flavors to linger on the tongue and create a nice heavier feel then would normally be encountered in a lager.
Overall – This is one tasty brew at a fantastic price. I really liked the unique blend of hop that blended very nicely with the lager body. Very nice.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at firewood grill SFO. Caramelly aroma. No visible carbonation. Initial mouthfeel is a little cloying but becomes mostly enjoyable after the palate adjusts. A little sweeter than I would like. Reminds me of Deschutes fresh squeezed. Good beer.
