Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a golden amber color with a one finger white colored foamy head. The head has a decent level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a good level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the brew has nice notes of tropical fruits of tangerine and mango, along with a blend of hops of a grapefruit and floral nature. Along with these aromas comes a bit of a caramel and bready smell as well as just a hint of a more herbal aroma, which when combined with the rest, produces a very nice aroma overall. Taste – The taste begins with a tropical fruit flavor mixed with a bit of a doughy taste. The smooth and sweet flavor has a bit of a grapefruit hop at the start, which grows stronger as the taste moves forward. Along with the grapefruit getting stronger, other hop flavors of an herbal and pine nature come to the tongue. The herbal gets somewhat more potent then would be expected, but brings a nice dimension to the brew. Toward the end, the taste develops a more dank tasting hop profile, which is balanced by a little bit of caramel that also arrives on the science and leaves a quite pleasantly hopped moderately malty and smooth flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel- The body of the beer is slightly thicker with a carbonation level that is slightly lower. The thicker body and lower carbonation really allow the more dank hop flavors to linger on the tongue and create a nice heavier feel then would normally be encountered in a lager. Overall – This is one tasty brew at a fantastic price. I really liked the unique blend of hop that blended very nicely with the lager body. Very nice.

Draft at firewood grill SFO. Caramelly aroma. No visible carbonation. Initial mouthfeel is a little cloying but becomes mostly enjoyable after the palate adjusts. A little sweeter than I would like. Reminds me of Deschutes fresh squeezed. Good beer.

Bomber. Clear orangey yellow, fading off-white foam. Fruity citrus lager malt aroma. Taste is mostly barely bitter citrus fruity hop, sweeter lager malt, touch of caramel, some floral grapefruit hints. Average carbonation, lighter bodied, moderately hopped. Crisp, lean and refreshing. Underated. MLF (More Lagerboy Friendly) Time to designate IPL as a style?

Best beer made by Pyramid! Nice hops and a light citrus flavor create an enjoyable beer. At 6% abv this is close to a session beer with the flavor of a full bodied IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

650ml brown bottle. Orange pour,a very full white cap on top. Sweet orangey nose. In the mouth - a touch of caramel sweetness, orange hops, bit of pine too, light fruity tones. Mild hoppy aftertaste, bitterness is there but light. Overall, enjoyable.

Lovely aroma of crisp hops and citrus. Nice deep orange pour with a big foamy head. Nice lacing. Flavour is smooth and hoppy, not getting a ton of lager elements but it has some very nice IPA ones

650ml bottle pours a pale amber color with a finger of white head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is grapefruit with some light fruits and hints of pine and caramel. Taste is a light grapefruit and pine hop bitterness balanced nicely with a light caramel and fruity sweetness. A well crafted and easy to drink brew which actually has some flavor and body to it. Recommended.

Looks like a nice IPA. Dark crisp Amber with an inch of foam. Good malty hop scent. More hops than malt in flavour. Hops are nice. Body a trifle thin. OK.

Bottle:   Already better than I expected, nice head and lacing.   Soft burnt orange.   Seems like a nice balance, a bit grassy with some stray and hay, with a little touch of hops.   Wow, surprised by this one a bit.   I expected it to be out of balance, but so far I am impressed.   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.   Nice smoothness, with a good bit of hops that don’t overbear on it.   Clean finish, quick, this one is good.   Deserves a better score than it has!   Well done Pyramid!!!
