3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
650 mL bottle. Pours maple syrup with a thick white head of tight bubbles. Nose is surprisingly malt forward with layers of bread, medium caramel, butter toffee and candied orange. Only mild bitterness, with slight pine resin and grapefruit notes. Dense and chewy with moderate to full body and average carbonation. Slick and sticky on the palate. Might pass as an Imperial Amber or Red, but not bitter or hoppy enough to be an IIPA in my books. Not what I expected, but tasty nonetheless, really great malt complexity and drinkability.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a clear amber with a medium white head, and has aroma notes of pine resin, citrus, and malt. Tasting notes include pine, citrus, and a rich malt backbone. The palate is slick, and resinous. This beer is not fresh, but the hops are still packing enough of a punch to make this beer enjoyable.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
I don’t know, a pretty standard DIPA. Awesome balance between the malts and hops but I guess the hops are just slightly more dominant. Thick body with a bit of booze kick. Almost seems like a good benchmark DIPA brewers in Ontario should look at for inspiration, except for Twice as Mad Tom which is perfect the way it is.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Probably not that fresh coming from the LCBO. Aroma is pretty nice, with oniony and grapfruit notes. Sweet malt also predominates. Clear golden/ceylon tea color, quickly fading head. Tastes quite nice, upfront more of the onion/citrus flavors and finishes with malty sweetness and slightly bitter hops. Lots of flavor without bracing bitterness, which is nice. Well balanced but not too complex. Thick bodied and average carbonation.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours the colour of light maple syrup & wears a beautiful one finger cap on top. This is a fantastic ipa & hits a lot of the sweet spots for me: it’s a gorgeous pour; the hops are punchy; the aroma is all about the hop bouquet; and the flavour profile is juicy citrus pith. Not sure it works as a double ipa as it is not as bitter as you’d expect nor does it have that hop oooomph you hope a double would have. Will buy again.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Smells of malt, syrup, Carmel and slight hops.
Pours clear, amber colour, finger width head, low carbonation.
Tastes malty, caramelly, citrus peel, sweet, a little sour.
Medium to big body, moderate carbonation, dry finished, bitter at the end. Slightly alcohol feeling.
Drinkable but not exceptional.

Growler, Calgary, AB, Canada via Liquor Depot. Medium gold, somewhat musty resin aroma. Sweet, bready with caramel then a relatively even finish. Some lime and cooked veg at the very end.
