2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz. brown bottle. Reddish brown with a 1" head. The aroma is sweet with lots of caramel, floral. Some citrus and pine bout not much. I was expecting more of a hop aroma for a DIPA. The taste is caramel, sweet with just enough hops and hop bitterness to prevent it from being cloying. I was expecting more of a hop taste for a style that is meant to be over blanced with hops but not here.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle. Pours a copper color with ruby red hues, that has a two finger light tan head. Smells strongly of hops, grapefruit, sugar and pine with caramel malt. Taste is big on the grapefruit, piney bitterness powering over a nice malt background. Finishes with a big hop flavor and lingering bitterness as well as the alcohol warmth. Mouthfeel is a little on the heavy side with good carbonation.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
The aroma is super sweet and hoppy with pine, citrus, and herbal hops. The appearance is amber with a foamy head. The taste is like the aroma but astringent and with pineapple. The palate is average for the style. Overall a decent beer with some punch but not great.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle and served in my GI IPA tulip: Pours a coppery hue with a small fading but lasting head that left okay lacework in it’s wake. The aroma has an interesting orange creamsicle and cotton candy overtone wrapped in a base of resiny and citric hops, bready and caramel malts. A hint of alcohol and peppery hop spice in also noticed. (Note that as it warmed a "catty" dank character starts to appear on the nose and palate).
The taste is balanced where neither the hop nor malt dominates but alas perhaps too balanced where the Simcoe character seems subdued and the Caramel seems too forceful. A nice hop spice tone and cleanse of alcohol kept the palate from becoming bored. The mouth feel is a touch sticky and oily, a lasting astringent leafy tea bag and slight metallic character is what you are left with remembering. Overall the whole experience is less that the sum of the parts. Some really good abit brief moments knocked down by a lasting feeling that it could (and should) have been more. A slight tweak of recipe and this would be a favorite.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Small tan head thats short lived. Miniscule lacing left behind. Clear copper color. Nose is grapefruit, hint of alcohol, light pine and some faint malts. Body is med/full, chewy on thepalate, light resinous notes, acidic. Piney, citrusy hop flavors with a medium sweet maltyness, slightly dank and earthy with chewy maltyness. Kinda messy though. Dry, hoppy finish, big bite and some boozey notes.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from bhensonb. Pours copper with a thick apricot head and citrus aroma. There is a roasty caramel malt flavor with a thick bitter finish. There is a lot of ingredient in this brew and it is fairly well-balanced.
