COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ignition Series #2
Outburst Imperial IPA is a high-impact workout for the senses. A crafty combination of four different hops, and a dose of dry hopping, powers Outburst to 80 IBU strong. Its bold profile offers an aroma reminiscent of the Northwest hop fields at harvest time, along with spicy overtones of fresh citrus. Seeking a harmonious balance to the hop overload, we’ve blended four different specialty malts to create a distinctive deep amber hue and sweet caramel and roasty flavors.

Bottle. Pour is light copper in color with a medium sized white head. Smells like weed, pineapple, some bubblegum. Really nice aroma. Taste is piney and pepper like, with very little else going on. Too much of a let down after the nice fruity aroma. Medium mouthfeel. Not bad, but the aroma led me to believe that this was going to be better.

I thought that this was good but unremarkable. It has a nice hoppy nose and a good bitter taste, but a relatively flat palate. My personal feeling is that if a DIPA is going to have this body, the palate should be more complex.

jcos (1520) - Maryland, USA - MAY 4, 2011
Pours a medium copper, clear. Floral aroma, some hop in the nose. Taste is semi sweet from the hops, malt is not very strong but balanced. Body is medium, soft carbonation, finish is long but not too long. A solid DIPA, well made, nothing super special about it..but would definitely have again.

Near clear orange amber with fair ring of offwhite head. Nose is fruity, almost cherry hops, like a fresh american barleywine. Flavor is somewhat like a hoppy imperial red. Fresh floral and resinous hops. Sticky on the palate, with a little alcohol burn in the finish. This was damn good

Botttle from the Natomas BevMo. Pours copper with a creamy beige head. Aromas of citrus rind over mildly roasted malt. Med + body. Flavor is lots of citrus rind - burns like zest, over some pretty roasty malt. There’s a lot of flavor here. It even seems there’s a little florality now and then. Pretty good stuff, tho perhaps with a bit too much sugar. Eh. Chacun à son goût

It poured a golden color with a medium off-white head. The aroma was of grass, apricot, and pineapple. The flavor was of pineapple, light pine, and grapefruit. A decent seasonal ale.

Pours light copper, small amount of lacing from average head. Huge, lively citrus character on the nose. Soft, average carbonation with nicely balanced hops.

Bottle. Poured a clear copper color with an averae frothy off-white head that lasted with good lacing. Medium to heavy complex hop aroma with a small malt tone. Medium to full body with a slick deep texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet and small alcohol burn finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid complex beer.

12oz bottle. Clear orange color with light carbonation. Aroma is fresh hops, sweetness and sappy pine. Great nose. Flavor is very nice hops, sweet syrup and spicy notes. Finishes very much hops and spice. Cool!

12oz. Btl. nice and frothy head; hints of citrus, lemon and herbs? (nice!). pours amber and lightly hazy. almost perfect taste; if there is such a thing. A wonderful mix of bitterness and sourness that comes together quite nicely on your tongue and mouth. Excellant Beer!
