3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pine/grapefruit and a hint of syrup sweetness in aroma. The flavor is caramel malts, citrus, a mild fruit tartness, pine and a lingering bitterness in the finish.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours clear amber with a quick off white tight soapy head that fades to a thin collar. Aroma is floral resinous hops and malt all around with some sweet caramel scents. Taste is resinous pine spruce and floral hops with a heavy caramel malt throughout. Palate is medium and chalky with a bitter drying finish.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
The best Pyramid beer Iíve tried. Awfully tasty, but not quite IIPA or DIPA, more like 1.7IPA. Fruity, spicy and a little grassy on the nose. A nice carmel malt flavor quickly clobbered by assertive hops that follows through to the long bitter finish. Could use more aroma or just LESS SIMCOE!

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20
UPDATED: JUL 18, 2015 One of the more impressive offerings from Pyramid. Pours a gorgeous amber with a nice foamy white head. Very floral and hop oriented aroma with a bittersweet finish on the palate. I like this beer. It is cheap and has a good buzz to it.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours a clear copper with a small off white head. The aroma is pine hops and grapefruit. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet hop flavor and light bitter finish. Easy to drink a very good IIPA from Pyramid.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
What a nice surprise. Honestly, I wasnít expecting much from this one. It pours a nice hazed tangerine with appropriate slightly off white head, good lacing, minimal beading. The nose is big on tropical and citrus bits, dense indica character. The taste carries a lot of the same attributes with the addition of some terrific caramel. This is a great IIPA, not at all what I was expecting.

Orangish pour wiht a thick tight creamy head.
aroma is quite nice, citrus and tropical fruit over caramel.
Flavour has a bit more burnt sugar/toffee molasses going on. Some fruity hop presence. Medium bitterness. Overall meh.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Pyramid's restaurant and bar in Sacramento. The citrus notes are more covered by the hoppy bitterness than I would prefer but all in all a decent IPA.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
From a sixer at a corner store in ífrisco, I said it: This was a (very) nice surprise!!! What I liked was that it wasnít trying to be over-the-top. I think the malt combination is what gives this hoppy brew its ultimate finish. There really isnít many beers with maltiness in mind when it comes to super hoppy brews. It just seemed so well-balanced, but I canít always be sure of this because palates change on meals and drinks in recent days. Anyway, a double IPA, after all, is all about the extra hops, but I think Pyramid did a great job balancing that out. Itís strong, tasty, with a great mouthfeel, and overall itís just awesome.

this ale had a clear copper pour with a little red mixed in, and made a one finger faint off-white bubbled head, the glass was effervescent with many streams of medium flowing bubbles, this beer left spots and fingers of lacing on the sides of the glass,
there were aromas of toasted malt, a little orange fruit, hops were citrus, a little grass and grapefruit with malt sweetness and some caramel,
the malt was out front in this ale, while the hops were in the background,
I noticed very faint alcohol on the nose in the background,
the flavors were toasted malt and caramel with citrus, grass and grapefruit hops,
the finish had some bitterness but I expected more hops from a IPA2 ale,
I do not taste the alcohol but I did feel it drying my palate a bit,
the mouth feel was medium or a little less, the alcohol dried my tongue a bit,
I found this IPA2 to be a simple malty with the hops in the background.
