3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
bottle-pours dark orange with a small soapy eggshell color head. nose is mostly sweet floral somewhat tropical hops with some candy sweet notes (fruity hard candy). flavors of sweet malts, light alcohol and some piney hops-nothign really to write home about here. pretty much what i was expectning from this brewery-a run of the mill IIPA. my main problem with the beer is that its not balanced and has way too much sweetness to it. decent but not great.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle at Maxs. Refreshingly resinous and hoppy for my Sconnified palate. Piny, orange, grapefruit. Full-bodied, but well balanced. A straightforward, well executed IIPA.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a transparent copper with a thin off-white head. Aroma is sweet and candy-like, with citrus fruit, and resinous hops. Flavor is sweet - a combination of malty caramel and dollop of fruit cocktail. Bitter, sure, but not especially so for the style. Some alcohol burn in the finish. Bottle suggests that I "enjoy by 5/9/12", so this should be a fresh specimen, yet some of the brighter hop flavors seem muted.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Light coppery golden colored in appearance with a thick layer of off-white sea foam head. The aroma is sweet, dank and citrusy with a bit of pine and caramel at the end. The taste opens up with herbal hops bitterness, citrus rind and pine resin notes. After that there’s some brown sugar sweetness and bready toasted malt flavors. The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy with medium carbonation and a bitter, alcohol warming finish. Overall, it’s a good value DIPA that’s a little sweeter and maltier than most West Coast versions.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: SEP 12, 2011 (12oz bottle thanks to Dixonian) clear rich amber, creamy tan bubbles. Nose of peach, apricot, sweet and citrusy. Quite fragrant. Taste of pineapple, bitter and syrupy at the same time without really counteracting one another, and a bitter palate linger.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz. brown bottle. Reddish brown with a 1" head. The aroma is sweet with lots of caramel, floral. Some citrus and pine bout not much. I was expecting more of a hop aroma for a DIPA. The taste is caramel, sweet with just enough hops and hop bitterness to prevent it from being cloying. I was expecting more of a hop taste for a style that is meant to be over blanced with hops but not here.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle. Pours a copper color with ruby red hues, that has a two finger light tan head. Smells strongly of hops, grapefruit, sugar and pine with caramel malt. Taste is big on the grapefruit, piney bitterness powering over a nice malt background. Finishes with a big hop flavor and lingering bitterness as well as the alcohol warmth. Mouthfeel is a little on the heavy side with good carbonation.
