COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ignition Series #2
Outburst Imperial IPA is a high-impact workout for the senses. A crafty combination of four different hops, and a dose of dry hopping, powers Outburst to 80 IBU strong. Its bold profile offers an aroma reminiscent of the Northwest hop fields at harvest time, along with spicy overtones of fresh citrus. Seeking a harmonious balance to the hop overload, we’ve blended four different specialty malts to create a distinctive deep amber hue and sweet caramel and roasty flavors.

On tap at papago 5/20/11 Amber w/a creamy clingy white head. Hazy. A= citrus, pine, lots of caramel malt sweetness, florals. F=the same only followed by a huge annoying dose of sugary sweetness. Very unpleasant. Thick and sweet. 6/3/5/2/12

The aroma is super sweet and hoppy with pine, citrus, and herbal hops. The appearance is amber with a foamy head. The taste is like the aroma but astringent and with pineapple. The palate is average for the style. Overall a decent beer with some punch but not great.

On tap at SD Brew Co. Ruby amber tiny head to transparent lace. Nose is monster hops. Citrus, pepper, celery, and alcohol. Taste is alcohol burn in nose and hop bite. Hops, malt, alcohol burn, in that order. Only for the fans of an IIPA with a fuse hanging out the side of the glass.

strong flavor, with a touch of caramel malts and a lot of pine malt that is all around the beer. the beer is highly fizzy with scrubbing feeling. strong alcohol.

Bottle and served in my GI IPA tulip: Pours a coppery hue with a small fading but lasting head that left okay lacework in it’s wake. The aroma has an interesting orange creamsicle and cotton candy overtone wrapped in a base of resiny and citric hops, bready and caramel malts. A hint of alcohol and peppery hop spice in also noticed. (Note that as it warmed a "catty" dank character starts to appear on the nose and palate).

The taste is balanced where neither the hop nor malt dominates but alas perhaps too balanced where the Simcoe character seems subdued and the Caramel seems too forceful. A nice hop spice tone and cleanse of alcohol kept the palate from becoming bored. The mouth feel is a touch sticky and oily, a lasting astringent leafy tea bag and slight metallic character is what you are left with remembering. Overall the whole experience is less that the sum of the parts. Some really good abit brief moments knocked down by a lasting feeling that it could (and should) have been more. A slight tweak of recipe and this would be a favorite.

Small tan head thats short lived. Miniscule lacing left behind. Clear copper color. Nose is grapefruit, hint of alcohol, light pine and some faint malts. Body is med/full, chewy on thepalate, light resinous notes, acidic. Piney, citrusy hop flavors with a medium sweet maltyness, slightly dank and earthy with chewy maltyness. Kinda messy though. Dry, hoppy finish, big bite and some boozey notes.

Bottle from bhensonb. Pours copper with a thick apricot head and citrus aroma. There is a roasty caramel malt flavor with a thick bitter finish. There is a lot of ingredient in this brew and it is fairly well-balanced.

12 oz bottle pours a hazy orange with a foamy white head that laces well. Grassy, hoppy aroma with plenty of pine and citrus. Taste has plenty of bitter hop with a grassy, pine and citrus finish. This Imperial IPA is in line with a regular Lagunitas IPA...

12oz bottle shared with mattyb83 pours a clear orange/amber with medium khaki head. Aroma is caramel, pine, slight citrus, with a peculiar yet familiar skunk funk. Taste starts out with mellow caramel into pine and citrus and finish with some nice spicy bitterness. Has a few nice things going on here.

Bottle. Pour is light copper in color with a medium sized white head. Smells like weed, pineapple, some bubblegum. Really nice aroma. Taste is piney and pepper like, with very little else going on. Too much of a let down after the nice fruity aroma. Medium mouthfeel. Not bad, but the aroma led me to believe that this was going to be better.
