3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a deep golden, semi cloudy. Straight hops on the nose. Instantly. Very floral, pineapple, apricots, golden raisins. Very inviting. Initial flavor of course is hops. Slightly bitter at first then smooths out to get a tasty pineapple juice deliciousness. Very flavorful IPA. Lots of fruitiness. But good. Mouthfeel is slightly oily and sticky. Worth trying.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours amber in color with a dense white head. Sort of surprising from Pyramid--a really nice, fresh, citrusy hop aroma. Heavy on the grapefruit and just as much pine and floral hop character. Mildly sweet with some toffee and pineapple notes. The flavor is a bit more perfumey than I prefer, but still good citrus and pine flavors and a solid bitterness. Just a little bit of malt sweetness and a nice fruity hop profile.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
From the 12oz bottle. Deep gold pour with a thick off white head. Huge resiny grapefruit, pine aroma. Taste has a big malt base with more resiny hop goodness with hints of grapefruit acidity and pine. Damn good brew.

Pineapple, caramel and a bit of spiciness. Really surprised by this offering from Pyramid. Lots of fresh hop flavor.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
bottle-pours dark orange with a small soapy eggshell color head. nose is mostly sweet floral somewhat tropical hops with some candy sweet notes (fruity hard candy). flavors of sweet malts, light alcohol and some piney hops-nothign really to write home about here. pretty much what i was expectning from this brewery-a run of the mill IIPA. my main problem with the beer is that its not balanced and has way too much sweetness to it. decent but not great.

Bomber. Sweet caramel with grapefruit and pine. Bitter finish that seems a bit off. Mild alcohol burn.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle at Maxs. Refreshingly resinous and hoppy for my Sconnified palate. Piny, orange, grapefruit. Full-bodied, but well balanced. A straightforward, well executed IIPA.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a transparent copper with a thin off-white head. Aroma is sweet and candy-like, with citrus fruit, and resinous hops. Flavor is sweet - a combination of malty caramel and dollop of fruit cocktail. Bitter, sure, but not especially so for the style. Some alcohol burn in the finish. Bottle suggests that I "enjoy by 5/9/12", so this should be a fresh specimen, yet some of the brighter hop flavors seem muted.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Light coppery golden colored in appearance with a thick layer of off-white sea foam head. The aroma is sweet, dank and citrusy with a bit of pine and caramel at the end. The taste opens up with herbal hops bitterness, citrus rind and pine resin notes. After that there’s some brown sugar sweetness and bready toasted malt flavors. The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy with medium carbonation and a bitter, alcohol warming finish. Overall, it’s a good value DIPA that’s a little sweeter and maltier than most West Coast versions.

On tap at Pi Bar, San Francisco, 5th March 2011. Clear dark orange colour with a line of lacy head. Resin and biscuit on the nose. Nicely balanced and suitably bitter flavour. A drinkable US DIPA.
