Bottle. Moderate malt aromas of bread and roasted, light cooked orange for the hops, moderate dough for the yeast, with brown sugar and dried fruit. Head is huge, frothy turning rocky, off-white with excellent lacing and is fully lasting. Color is muddy medium red/brown. Flavor starts slightly sweet and moderately acidic, then the long finish is moderately acidic and moderately to heavily bitter. Palate was undescernable from the overly fizzy carbonation. This English Strong Ale has nice aromas but the flavor is out of balance and its carbonation hides too much of the mouthfeel.

Pours a medium mahogany with an off white frothy head. Aromas on the malty side of sweet caramel, toffee, candy, bubblegum, light fruity hops, and a touch of chocolate. Flavors of light roasted malts, slight grain, grass, very light ester of bubblegum, and light caramel. Light to medium sweetness, bitter finish, slight roasted malt aftertaste. Kind of an interesting mix of flavors as the aromas put out different vibes than the flavors.

Hearty aroma is mainly yeasty and fruity with a malty underpinning. It pours a clear, dark, bubbly chestnut with a very thick and frothy pale wheat head that sticks around for quite a while. Strong flavor has firm malty, hoppy and fruity notes plus yeasty and subtle spicy (mainly cloves) and woody tones. Very hearty, enjoyable and pleasing! Smooth texture has good body and fizz. Labeled a winter warmer, but fine any time of year.

Bottle. Pours clear brown-amber with a small tan head that dissipates with nice lacing. Aroma is faint, with notes of caramel, orange. Flavor is a bit spicy, with notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, and fairly strong orange peel riding a caramel back. Medium body, light zesty bitterness. Not really my thing.

12 ounce bottle. Translucent brown liquid topped by a small beige head. Light toasted malt nose. Slightly bitter toasted malt upfront with hints of black pepper and treacle. Bitter hop finish. Lacks depth or complexity.

12oz bottle. Enjoy by 3/11/13. Darker hazy brown / red color. Huge pillowy khaki fills the glass and requires a 2-part pour. Fades, but a good thin layer remains. Cinnamon spice and baked apple / pear skin nose. Medium - plus body. Smooth, light / medium soft carbonation. Light spicy bite in the finish. Spice, and toasty english malt taste. Some musty bruised fruit. Light metallic. Moderate bitter, light spice bite... Not awful, but not very pleasant. Not my kind of English Strong Ale, nor my kind of winter ale.
