3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very rich, nice balance, spicy aroma & aftertaste, tasted like a little cinnamon was thrown in, kind of nutty as well, good head, pretty decent seasonal

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Black-cherry color with a medium khaki head with decent lacing. Aroma is wonderful: cinnamon and nutmeg is the most prevalent. Initial taste has a hop burst that mellows with burnt chocolate. Medium carbonation. Happy 15th Anniversary Pyramid!

Nothing special when itís cold -- the aroma is metallic and the flavor is unbalanced (the sweet and bitter flavors donít blend). When it warms up a few degrees, though, the aroma and the flavor become spicier, less bitter, and it blends nicely. It has a pleasant, fruity and spicy flavor fitting a winter seasonal. I enjoy this beer, but I do not recommend drinking it straight from the fridge.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
With a really high alcohol content you have to watch yourself with this one because it surprisingly easy to drink. Nicely malty, this is a good wintertime beer to put some rosiness in your cheeks.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: NOV 29, 2003 2003 bottle-deep ruby appearance-lots of carbonation with off white head. malty aroma-sweet and spicy. sharp, spicy palate that is astringent. somewhat harsh on the tongue. This beer would be excellent after a year of aging. Right now, its very unbalanced.

From the moment I opened the bottle I liked this one. It reminds me of malt, cookie dough, and even a bit pineapple-y in a way. I taste as much in here as I smell, and I love it. Nice warming from the alcohol too. Would rate even higher if not for the bitterness that appears from time to time. Overall, my favorite from Pyramid.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear ruby/chestnut. Thin white edge head. Light carbonation. Cherry aroma, some caramel and earthy hops. Medium light body with a savory, earthy twang to the malt base. Watery. Fairly dry with a light juicy alcohol edge. Fairly basic with not much depth of flavor or substance to the body. Thickens slightly as it sits. Remains íherbyí with a lightly roasted dry finish. Disappointing.

If this is actually an English strong ale, then this is my first. The aroma is quite strong, with intriguing malt tones. Interesting flavors throughout, although I canít recall any highlights worth noting. Quite enjoyable, and I hope to try some similar brews of this style.
