Winter Warmer. A rich, full-bodied winter warmer crafted in the British tradition of holiday beers. This deep mahogany colored brew balances complex fruit flavors with a refreshingly smooth texture.

Dark brown, ruby tones. Spicy, a little plummy, bready and toasty, slightly yeasty. Not a lot of hop character, but I donít mind. Very satisfying.

Bottle from bhensonb. Pours black with a thick tan head and a fruity aroma. There is a dry roasted malt flavor with some dark fruit and a bit of chocolate. very drinkable.

2002 Bottle thanks to paiste2002. Marked to have East Kent and Golding which are probably gone by now. Pours with a light brown head and a hazy dark brown body. Room filling aroma that smells like sherry from a foot away. Yup, sherry and raisins, with yeast, toffee, and marmalade. Smells similar to a well aged 2001 OSA. Taste is graham cracker, raisin, jam and a bit of cardboard oxidation. This might age a touch better than OSA in my book. Water like mouthfeel and light bubbles. This has aged gracefully! It is a really a great beer, I wish I had more of this vintage...

No consistency here :(

Draft. Mahogony colored beer with a thin white head. Spicey, malty aroma. Sweet malt flavors with some holiday spiceiness. A touch of fruit. Slight roastiness. I donít remember it being this good - but Iíve only had it in bottles before.

On draft at the brewpub, downtown Seattle. It pours a clear deep amber with decent tan head and some sheet lacing. The beer was served way too cold. It was difficult to get a good read on the aroma and it didnít taste as good this cold either. What I was able to smell was mild roasted maltiness and faint fruity esters. The taste, once it warmed some, was a mild burst of roasted malts followed by a stronger cherry, prune and plum fruitiness. I also noticed some mild pine hop bitterness that grew to nearly a moderate level bitterness in the finish.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber with a small head. The taste is full of hops, some deep fruit, a smooth malt, and a Belgian yeast that adds a ton. Itís underrated; not the best, but damn good.

Bottle. Pours a brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have caramel and toffee, some bread, dark dried fruits, with mild spices. Smooth texture and surprisingly not too bad.

Bottled. Poured clear garnety-brown with a short-lived cap of beige head. The aroma picked up lightly tart redder fruits paired with a little bit of cleanser.. touches of toffee and earth as well.. almost smelled slick. The flavor opened with tart red fruit skins and vinegar.. building non-directional bitterness all the way through the finish.. toffee and bready support didnít do much.. sour and ugly on the finish. Medium-bodied and sharp the whole way on the palate.. the warm, soothing "winter warmer" character I was hoping for was absent.

Draft after a day of skiing. Pours deep brown with a beige head. Lightly roasted malts, bread, light holiday spices, and a medium fruity sweetness. Good stuff.
