3.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Not nearly as good as the Widmer Brotherís Winter Nakt, but this beer has a lot of charecter that is hard to place . . . there is almost something minty about it, and then there is a dry aftertaste, and some wierd roast/pinaple flavour. Honestly, there are quite a few off-flavours that I am having difficulty pinpointing, and some of them detract from the purity and peacefullness expected to acompany the season - it is too busy; too party-like to really be a winter ale. Itís still a great beer, I just donít think itís appropriate for Winter - maybe closer to spring, when the weather picks up a bit.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
When i bought this, the bottle said ale, but when i drank the first sip, my tongue said Stout. Really was not a fan of this at all, just a little to dark.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
I stopped by Brewforia in Meridian Idaho today for a growler....I was excited to see that they had snow cap on tap. Well halfway through the growler fill the keg blew...
beer was dark with an alright head that had a tanish color to it.
smell was lacking a lot of power
taste was good on the first glass the second glass left something to be desired. there was black liquorish flavor polished with some spice.
mouth feel was great really
over all this was a nice beer but not one I would drive out of my way for.
Serving type: growler

12 oz. bottle poured into a shaker.
Ar: Dark chocolate, with some caramelly sweetness. A little spice, and alcohol flavor evident.
Ap: Dark brown, small tan head that leaves soon.
Taste: Alcohol bite gives way to an underlying sweetness.
P: Full bodied, perfectly carbonated.
O: Exactly what I expected given the name. A perfect beer to curl up with on a cold winterís night. Much better than anticipated.

good strong beer. six of these plus a shot or two of bushmills and all is right for a while. good warm alchohol notes if not served too chilled.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A surprisingly light body for such an amber beer and thatís not a bad thing. This brew has a good toffee taste and a strong general flavor. Overall, pretty good!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Deep ruby/mohogany color, tan head that sits for several minutes. First aroma impression if of dark malts, chocolate, along with a nutty toasted aroma. Some caramel notes along with coffee. Earthy hoppy aroma and flavor. This beer has a lingering bitterness that is not bad, and accented along with the dark raostted malts. Flavors match aroma along with smoke, toffee and some prune. Full body with a soft carbonation. Overall a very nice beer to enjoy on a evening.
