3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
A - Pours a slightly hazy dark golden brown with amber highlights.
Thick head with nice retention. Spotted lacing.
S - Earthy hops, semi-sweet malt, almost a bean scent coming through, a weird earthy, acidic tomato aroma.
T - Floral hops start it off, followed by a candied malt that is quite pronounced, slight chocolate notes mixed with peppery citrus bite, finish is grapefruit rind resin.
Not too shabby. A little on the floral side but other than that a descent IPA.

I normally do not like IPAs. Its probably b/c this one is mild compared to those I've tasted that I like this one.

From bottle. Poured copper in color. Aroma was mild earthy hop and cardboard. Taste follows. Musty taste with small roasted malt, lots of bittering. Metallic off taste.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a nice copper, with small head and decent lacing. I have found this beer to be inconsistent--possibly because of age. On a good day, it is well-balanced and hop heavy--piney, maybe even pinon. On a bad day, only the elevated ABV is a positive.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a slightly copper golden color with a thin white head. Aroma is light and bready. Flavor...BOOM. Columbus hops. Not what I expected. Fruity sweetness in the backhand. Tastes sort of as if Magic Hat #9 got a bit hoppier. Maybe with a dash of grapefruit. Very solid.

Aroma is toffee-like malts and a hint of crisp hops. The flavor is toffee/caramel, fruit and a long citrus finish. Drinkable but kind of low on the hops.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tap at the Seattle Taproom (Sea-Tac Airport) - 09/11/12.
Very lightly hazed mid amber with a thin off white head, lively carbonation evident (Great - Not!).
Nose is light caramel malt, touch of citrus, a little hoppage, a pretty muted nose all told.
Taste is caramel malt, some hop bitterness, a little candied sugar, citrus notes, light floral tones.
Medium bodied with prickly carbonation (badly done IPA!) leading to a bitter finish.
Below par stuff - not recommended.

Pours a translucent gold with a thin, white head that fades. Excellent lacing. Balanced aroma. Light, minimally effervescent mouthfeel. Mildly hoppy taste. An approachable IPA.

On draught at SEATAC Seattle Taproom. Mellow hop aromas but intense hop bitterness and matching flavor. Supporting maltiness. Medium body, nice lasting white head with fine bubbles. A nice welcome upon arriving in Seattle.
