3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nice golden color with suitable bubbles; not not much head. Nice hoppy aroma. The Cascades really come through, and there is noticeable bitterness in the flavor. Very dry finish. An enjoyable beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Re-rate 05/18/02: Pours a clear amber or deep gold, nice white head, decent lace and a fine hop floral nose. Begins malt sweet, top light, finish is dry, acidic, hop bitter and a fine drinkable beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Basic IPA with extra NW bite. Decent aroma, good hoppiness/bitterness. Solid beer.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Not much to it. Vague aroma that’s slightly sour, and a flavor that tastes more sour than bitter. The hoppiness tastes canned, not very fresh. Little balance and little finish. Flat, sour, dull.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
The best beer on tap at the Pyramid Brewery here (besides the kilt lifter). The most lucid aroma, good drinkability and decent crispness. Lacks the massiveness of the best West Coast IPAs.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nice hoppy IPA, very bitter and unbalanced, but there in lies the beauty of this ale, light copper color, with very little maltiness, but tons of hop flavor, aroma, and bitterness, plus a nice kick, good to drink before M’s Games

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Too bubbly and too bitter for my taste. Not terrible - but I wouldn’t waste my time trying it again.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Not nearly as good as Samuel Smith’s IPA, but not bad. I thought it could have used some more malt to balance the hops. I would like to try it on tap some day. Nice honey color and rather bubbly.

UPDATED: APR 7, 2005 More of a stout fan but gotta love the hops of this beer.

2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Unnesasarily bitter, hoppy . . . maybe, but the sour taste is upsetting. Kind of a dead pinnaple, semi-sweetness there, but not enough to clean the pallete, as that bitter flavor just lingers endlessly, and it’s not pleasing. Looks fine, heads well, but then tastes unpalletably bitter, (and not the good kind). I think I like this IPA even less than the Full Sail. The only hint of aroma hops I get it when I burp up the stomach gas. Oh well, thank god there is Bridgeport, Stone’s, and Martime IPA’s. I think this IPA has recieved too much praise, it’s not that great.
