We heap the hops into each batch of our Thunderhead IPA. A golden nectar with a striking floral aroma, Thunderhead holds a harmonious balance between its bold hop bitterness and subtle malt backbone.

tasted this beside a portland woodstock ipa, they finished about equal. the pyramid has a yellow-orange sunset glow(pantone 138). head: yes. aroma: quite enticing, oranges and new straw broom. more tart than the portland, iím sure it would arrive in india in splendid shape (hops are a preservative iím told--given the amount of them that i ingest, either iíll live exceptionally long, or my corpse will be a great museum piece in ten thousand years). for now, the ample hoppiness preserves my interest to the bitter end.

extremely quaffable IPA. Wonderful honeylike appearance with a good balance between hops and malt.

this is my first IPA, and to make myself look foolish, i wasnt really sure what the taste of hops constituted. after drinking this, there is one overwhelming quality in both the aroma and taste, apparently this is the hops...ha...well, to make a long story short, i really like it..i will have to experiment with this style more. to look at it reminds you of a glass of pure honey

This one is just not the same under the new formula. it was never great but always nice. Now, well it has a bit of the factory one tone to it. it was one of my first IPAís after my Bass fixation. Well, there are so many other great ofterings out there. Give me a SN.

yep, its hoppy. quite a shock at first, but after a few you get used to it. thereís quite a bite, iíd like a little more malt for balance. not my favorite ipa, but good enough.

Great IPA. I used to HATE (the capital letters are intentional) hoppy beers, but lately, I have become somewhat of a hop-head, and this beer just does it for me. Not as good as SN Celebration Ale...but good. I can really taste the cascade hops. The aroma was a little weak, but the beerís color and head slightly made up for it. This definitely is a hop-headís beer. Lots and lots of cascades. It mixes nice in a smooth, slightly creamy, malt flavor. Excellent...definitely on the buy list (well, when the Celebration Ale is out of stock).

Very strong hoppy taste. Quite good if you are a hop head. I liked it.

a good IPA. personally im more of a fan of an insanely hoppy beer. This had a nice malt charecter, to balance out decent hop bite.

Deep red color is very nice. This is a pretty darn good American style IPA with lots and lots of Cascade hops. Very enjoyable flavor...yes its out of balance, itís supposed to be extra hoppy, thatís the way IPAís are meant to be and American style IPAs in particular have made it the norm to really load up on the hops. I could drink this one on a regular basis.
