Hazy, peach-colored ale. Small, fizzy, off-white head with good, weeping lacework. The nose is tangy and fruity with notes of grapefruit, lemon, apricot and leather. The flavor is rich with malty goodness. Grapefruit and apricot also make an appearance. Very astringent and harshly bitter with a whisper of pungency. Medium-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Crisp, bitter, dry finish.

Poured a hazy, medium orange color with a smaller head. Aromas and tastes of flowers and citrus (grapefruits). Mildly bitter. Watery body. There’s just nothing special about this one (nothing real bad either).

On tap at the National. Watered down. Hoppy, but also astringent and metallic. Some lace and head. Not so drinkability.

Not nearly as good as Samuel Smith’s IPA, but not bad. I thought it could have used some more malt to balance the hops. I would like to try it on tap some day. Nice honey color and rather bubbly.

Pours almost yellow with little head and low carbonation. Very bitter and unbalanced from the hops. But the hops is not smooth or citrusy or enjoyable. It is almost like chewing on raw hops buds. Aftertaste is similarly raw hops and very bitter and lingering. I would say too low gravity and too many IBUs.

22 oz. bottle, pours clear (for an IPA) golden with a small white head. Aroma of subtle hops, grass and citrus. Solid hops flavour with a grass backbone. Decent IPA - certainly nothing special.

A clear orange-copper colour. Citrus aromas include lemon, orange, and grapefruit. Full malty flavour with a fantastic citrusy hop character as well and enough bitterness to finish it off. Quite a tasty brew.

Bottle. Pine hops and honey malt aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Initially a honey malt flavor followed by a pine hops finish. One of the sweetest IPAs I’ve ever had - really works very well.

arminjewell (8582) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - OCT 4, 2010
Pours hazy orange with white head, aroma is grassy, pine, touch of citrusy hops. Taste is very mild grassy hops, bit of pine, leading into a biscuit middle that finishes a bit bitter. Pretty weak hop character and bitterness for an IPA, more like an APA.

Clear copper. Bitter is just right; smells of moderately sweet hops, pineapple, and peaches. Taste doesn't deviate much from the aromas, and it turns out to be a very enjoyed IPA. I was suprised it was done so well by Pyramid.
