2008-10-14. Hazy golden orange, modest off-white head. (3+) Modest aroma, light resin and green vegetation. (6+) Pretty mild flavour, modest bitterness throughout, light resin and hop character. (6+) Average plus palate. A decent pale ale, but a fairly weak IPA. Bottle via trade with mgermani

Draught as a 5 oz sampler at Pyramid in Sacramento, CA, on April 23, 2011
Clear deep golden color, white head. Soem hops at first, but then mainly dry bitter taste. Hints of fruits in the aftertaste. Way too bitter. Smooth mouthfeel, huge bitterness. Sweet and a bit hoppy scent.
Unbalanced and not for me.

arminjewell (8100) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - OCT 4, 2010
Pours hazy orange with white head, aroma is grassy, pine, touch of citrusy hops. Taste is very mild grassy hops, bit of pine, leading into a biscuit middle that finishes a bit bitter. Pretty weak hop character and bitterness for an IPA, more like an APA.

Pours with a rocky, off-white head with a chill-hazed golden body. Some lacing. Floral hops, grapes and prunes in the aroma. Hoppy bitterness followed by a dryness that ends in astringency in the finish. Watery mouthfeel.

A solid rep of the style, with a slighty soapy character to the dominant cascade profile, and a shorter-than-average finish. Nice bitterness though.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Bottle. Orange pour with a white head. Pine resin nose. Nice easy drinking hop flavor - not over the top but good character.

Coutesy GMCC2181. 12oz bottle pours clear deep gold with copper core and white head. The aroma is faint citrus hops and some malt sweetness. The aroma is pretty weak overall for the style. The taste starts with malty sweetness and builds toward mild citrus orange peel and grapefruit flavors. As it progresses the citrus hops become more and more bitter to about midway. For a moment the hops are met by a brief pulse of malty sweetness. Into the finish the citrus hop bitterness regains total control of the flavor. It leans toward mild grapefruit bitterness into the after taste.

Bottle. Amber colored beer with a medium white head. Aroma of pine and citrus, but not as much as many IPA’s. Body tingles a bit and has some carbonation. Flavor has a rich malt backbone with a nice bitterness to it that lingers - otherwise your typical tar and citrus with a hint more of the alcohol. Not bad - and probably their best beer, but there are better breweries.

Pours golden with a decent off-white head and pineish (is that a real word?) aroma. It’s light on caramel malt, but heavy on the hops. So what you have is a bitter but lackluster beer.

Had a pint at Palomino in downtown Cincinnati. Golden-orange pour. Mild aroma, hoppy with a little citrus. Gave the impression of a fairly straightforward IPA until I actually drank it. Very poor IPA overall; tasted as if an unpleasant chemical were added that afternoon. Somewhat bitter with no reward. Unnatural aftertaste. Disappointing- easily the worst Pyramid beer I’ve tasted.
