2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
dry finish, thin. Little notable head, light gold color. I don’t particular care for IPAs, especially when they’re anything but very cold...

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. The Columbus hops give it a excellent bitterness that hits the back sides of my tongue leaving me want more. Great to sip and could easily down a 6 myself. Simple hops dance on my palate with a slight grapfruit flavor that isnt overwhelming at all. Hazy yellow color with no head. And at 6.7% ABV, makes for a nice IPA.

Lacks the hop aroma I was expecting. The bitter finish is a bit too long.

Bleh.... If you’re going to deal with some of the sharp bite of an IPA, it had better have some good flavors jumping out at you. This one doesn’t. Only the bad, no good.

Ick. Don’t like hoppy bears, and this one was very hoppy. Horrible aftertaste. I won’t be buying again.

Nice gasoline aftertaste. Not too hoppy but better than a lager. Complex sweetness that makes you want to drink the whole six pack in one setting. That’s what I just did. Wish I had more!

Dark straw colored. Smells skunky... tastes skunky. No wonder it was on sale. Bad sample. I will re-rate this when I find a good bottle.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This is a really good example of a West Coast hoppy IPA. The smell is hoppy but not intense. The taste is very hoppy and very intense, but not very complex. But that’s OK, it’s just fine as it is.
But be careful.. this is 6.7% alcohol, so 3 of these are more than equal to 4 regular 5% beers.
Of course high-hops and high-alcohol is the corect format for IPA-style beers. The Brits developed the style when shipping barrels of beer from London the India. Both alcohol and hops were known to be preservatives, so they upped the proportions of both these ingredients to help keep the beer fresh through the long trip.
When I feel like an IPA this beer meets or exceeds all specs.
