We heap the hops into each batch of our Thunderhead IPA. A golden nectar with a striking floral aroma, Thunderhead holds a harmonious balance between its bold hop bitterness and subtle malt backbone.

On tap at the Globe in Chicago. One of the worst IPAs Iíve ever had. Very clear light amber color with white head. Aroma had a little hop, and a lot of sweet, some apple as well. Taste was bad, very sweet like sugar, not very bitter at all. Very watery. Disgusting.

Very hoppy and a little skunky on the nose. A little bitter at first but a smooth finish.

Eew. This beer looks like a decent IPA (copper, off-white head) but god it smells awful. Itís like a weird brussel sprouts, asparagus, or some other leafy vegetable I canít quite put my finger on. The taste has a bit more of this, but at least theres decent bitterness and some maltiness. I have no idea what theyíve done to this beer, I canít believe this smell is the result of just some terrible combination of hops. It really must be off somehow. Disgusting, if Iím honest.

Pours very thin and has a really bitter beer taste. I just don't like this beer.

Had a pint at Palomino in downtown Cincinnati. Golden-orange pour. Mild aroma, hoppy with a little citrus. Gave the impression of a fairly straightforward IPA until I actually drank it. Very poor IPA overall; tasted as if an unpleasant chemical were added that afternoon. Somewhat bitter with no reward. Unnatural aftertaste. Disappointing- easily the worst Pyramid beer Iíve tasted.

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2007 Aroma of rotting sticky hemp colas, quite interesting. Rather light orange with a brown tinge. Bang up IPA flavors. Strong with personality. Does command attention. Has some mild creamy carbonation. Disrespects my taste buds. Long bitter lingering bunyanesque finish. Good example of the style, if you like IPA, not disappointing.

Very light orange, rapidly dissipating head. Light caramel aroma, vague herbal aroma. Doesnít smell bad, just not good, and rather faint. Flavor has some astingency and overwhelming bitterness with almost no hop character. Nothing to recommend this, pretty bad, not worth drinking.

First time: solvent, onions, sulfur ŗ la Tooheys Extra Dry, rust and meat. Doesnít taste quite as bad - salty and somewhat sweet.
Second time: DMS unlike Iíve ever encountered. Sweet, moderately hoppy and solid bitterness... but geez.
Painful stuff.

Bleh.... If youíre going to deal with some of the sharp bite of an IPA, it had better have some good flavors jumping out at you. This one doesnít. Only the bad, no good.

Bottle and tap from the Flying Saucer. Very bitter aftertaste. Draught is not much better than the bottle.
