darbish (37), Portland, Oregon, USA Dec 5, 2007 A decent beer. Smells malty and sweet with traces of hops. Appearance is a translucent amber/gold. However taste is reminiscent of metal, and various citrus flavors. Aftertaste is definitely hoppy, but I can’t shake the feeling that this brew is the same as some other Pyramid offering -- but with more hops. I’ll drink it, but I’m still disappointed...
Gypsy19 (253), AMERICA RISING, USA Dec 1, 2008 A good IPA in my opinion that has what many lack: A touch of sweetness and a little alcohol burn. The other chracteristics are typical: Apricot and citrus, strong hoppiness. Overall, good. seanbhudson (1), , California, USA does not count Nov 29, 2008 APPEARANCE: Pours a clear light orange copper color with a small white head that dissipates quickly. Very little lacing lacing.
AROMA:
Mild aroma for an IPA, hops with hints of apricots.
TASTE:
Citrusy hop bitterness balanced with some caramel sweetness again a hint of apricots. Finishes with some piney undertones.
MOUTHFEEL:
Medium body with fizzy carbonation. Finishes a bit dry.
DRINKABILITY:
Relatively drinkable because there is not a ton of flavor. Nothing great but nothing bad.
NOTES: BBCSD-T2B2
Sleeper (75), Washington, USA Nov 21, 2008 This is a pretty standard IPA in my opinion. It’s nothing crazy but very stable at bringin the hops with some malt to balance. jebert (60), Watertown, Wisconsin, USA Nov 20, 2008 Pours golden with a slight reddish hue. Capped by a light tan creamy head. Hops dominate the nose with a faint malt overtone. Creamy mouthfeel. Strong hop flavor on first taste, fairly bitter aftertaste. Hopheads will love this one. Pairs will with a bag of nuts or snack mix. Taverner (517), San Ramon, California, USA Nov 17, 2008 On tap at Pyramid Alehouse at OAK. Aroma: non-existant. Sure, there are a few grassy florals on the nose. But that does not translate to aroma. As for palate, it does have its bittering hops. Very nice bracing palate-crusher hops in this one. However, it really lacks in the aromatic ones. Flavor is standard ale malt profile. It’s OK. Something I would drink at the airport, but not worth seeking.
