Excellent multi-grain beer from Franconia. Part dunked, part roggenbier. Smooth, without the normal dunkel bitterness. Dark, murky brown with creamy beige head. Aroma is fruity and sour. Taste is nutty. This is really excellent.

hazy amber colour, huge, dense and quite stable slightly yellowish-beigeish off-white head - perfect so far; aroma of grains, honey, some dried fruity notes like raisin and figs, and rye bread; taste of malty sweetness, some honey, dried fruity notes again, roastedness and bread; correct beer

Elég olajos, minden bizonyára a zab miatt.

Mooi vol bier.

Barwa jasnobrązowa/ciemnozłota, mętne. Piana drobno- i średniopęcherzykowa, średnio trwała. Pozostaje cienka warstwa. Goryczka niska do średniej, końcówka oleista, lekko zalegająca. Jeżeli idzie o odczucie w ustach - gaz rozchodzi się po policzkach, szybko znika, piwo jest szerokie. Naprawdę dobra rzecz.

(Pyraser 6-Korn Bier) Bottle 500 ml, with a metal screw cap. Served into a glass tankard, ABV 4.6% Deep orange colour on the body, like honey, small white head on top, a bit thin but with good retention, leaving light lacing on the glass. Aroma has grains, smells sweet, some oats, caramel, floral and herbal notes. Nice taste, sweet but not overly so, quite grainy but again nothing too much, wheat, oats, grass, herbs. Medium thick body, soft carbonation, mildly dry palate. Very good, way above my expectations.

UPDATED: DEC 16, 2014 500ml bottle served in a chalice. A: Pours a dark hazy amber to beige color forming a medium creamy dense beige head. Good retention and some lacings formed and left in the glass S: Extremely grainy in the nose, expected from a six malt beer. Strong notes of barley, oatmeal, wheat, caramel and roasted malts. Also notes of flowery, earthy and citrus hops T: As the nose, extremely grainy. Sweet upfront. Notes of caramel malts, oatmeal, wheat and roasted malts. Hops are earthy and citrus. Cascade-like. However, bitterness is light as expected from a German beer. Yeasts are very biscuity and bready. Lager style M: Very creamy and heavy body. Most probably due to the oatmeal and wheat in the formula. Medium carbonation. Bready and grainy aftertaste O: Good drinkability. Different from any other beer I’ve had. Interesting [ BA Review @ 12/26/2012 ]

TAR (2518) - Lafayette, Colorado, USA - SEP 14, 2014
Draught at Nurnberger Alm, Dec. 2012: Orange chestnut with some haze. Fragmented dirty-white foam. Simple toasty, airy, and earthy nose with hints of brown sugar and red apple peels. Soft and fuzzy carbonation. Dry and earthy with pecan skin malt and fallen leaves. Grains offer up some firm hazelnut and browned biscuit accents, though a soggy bread note akin to Communion wafer negates much of the body’s structure. Finishes with a red apple note which magnifies the increasingly limp malt. Very basic and kind of aimless. Meh.

500ml Bottle from Good Spirits Co, Glasgow (£3):
Lots of malts & some bread with some sweetness. It’s not particularly strong on the nose, there is some bitterness and wheat with the beer almost hinting at being a hefeweizen with some background fruits & grain.
Dark, cloudy amber with a fingers-width tall, foamy to creamy white head that holds pretty good over the opening minutes before eventually having in size.
Wheat & banana kick things off with the beer again seeming like a hefeweizen but the grains & strong malts soon take over with touches of sweetness. Caramel & further grains start to come through & although the beer wasn’t the greatest to begin with, almost seeming bland, it did pick up around the middle with some spice featuring as well.
Lots of grain & sweetness on top of a light-medium body & medium carbonation. There is some spice & a dry finish that is followed by quite a bitter aftertaste.

Fairly average in truth, it starts with some wheat & spice with background fruits but it still seems to come across as quite a bland one before improving some around the middle. Definitely drinkable but it wasn’t overly enjoyable & won’t be one I’ll pick up again.
