On tap at the growler station at the party source in Bellevue ky. Blind harry pours deep amber. The aging in bourbon barrels is apparent in the sweet bourbon caramel and oak on the nose. Taste is also very bourbon like without the burn. It is medium sweet with caramel and toffee hints. Body is just a touch lively. Finish is just a tad cloying. Very drinkable beer probably good primarily for bourbon fans.

Huge thanks to Beau for this one!! Killer at Hunahpu’s! Sample pour of deep brown amber with little to no head. Nose is booze and sweet without being overpowering. Dark fruit notes and dried fruits. Flavor is boozy and malty, caramel and plenty of toffee, more dried fruit. This this is balanced, and it helps that Woodford Reserve is the shit. Damn Beau, you’re the man!

Draft at The Party Source. Pours a semi-cloudy amber with a finger of off-white head that lasts for a while. Really big bourbon aroma; a little more boozy heat and it’d just be a bourbon smell - vanilla, oak, toasted caramel. Really nice. The flavor is sweeter, with vanilla, caramel, toasted brown sugar, and a hint of chocolate. Not a lot of Scotch ale character here but the base beer provides enough malt and body to not fall out completely to the barrel. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet, boozy mouthfeel. Fun beer.

Draft to taster. Looks good; a semi-opaque brown with light beige lacing. Smells good too; a heavy Woodford barrel influence. Tastes like it smells, but slightly less balanced. Good on the palate. Solid, and should improve with age.

Tap sample at CBWF. Poured clear brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted malt, nuts and cherry wood aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy bourbon toasted sweet bourbon flavor with medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a good complex beer.

On tap at Cincinnati Winter Beer Fest (CWBF) 2013. Dark brown color. Thin khaki head. Minimal lace. Bourbon - barrel nose. Like vanilla, some roast. Little chocolate. Crisp, smooth, lighter carbonation. Bigger body. More dry texture. Light bitter, little sweet taste. Some cocoa powder, toasty malt, and big bourbon flavor. Dry, but little bite. Pretty agreeable. Little alcohol. Cool beer.

Draft at CWBF - pours murky brown/amber with offwhite head. Bourbon and wood nose. Flavor is wood, cherry, peat, maple, brown sugar and booze. Sweet and complex - the highlight of my night at the CWBF.
