22 oz. bottle from The Party Source- thanks, John, for picking this one up for me (and two extras)! They bottled this one and dropped the "Honey" from the name, which I’m not sure was ever actually there- never saw it on the tap handle, either, when it was at the growler station. Nice bourbon barrel aroma, that emerges more as it warms- vanilla, caramel, oak, toasted brown sugar, nuts, and oak. The flavor follows the same notes. Some dark fruits, too. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet, malty mouthfeel. Best Listermann beer I’ve had so far.

Sampled at DLD 2013. It poured a brown color with a tan head. The aroma was of heavy toasted sweet malt and bourbon. The taste was of sweet toasted bourbon with a medium finish. It had a medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Very good brew.

Out of the bottle at Nattifest ’12. BTW, never leave JCW to guard your stash. Dark brown beer with a creamy beige head. Big brown sugar sweetness in the nose with lots of bourbon. There is lots of bourbon flavors with some cinnimon toast. A little thin but tastey.

Sample at Natifest. Awesome name. Dark clear brown color. Thin off-white head. A lot of woody whiskey flavor. Hot, woody bitter taste. Light crisp carbonation. Good for what it is, but a bit too much for me

Draft sample. Poured a cloudy dark brown color with a large frothy light brown head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted sweet malt and bourbon aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Solid complex bourbon sweet toasted flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Good complex brew.

This beer has a strong oak presence with a nice carmalized malt backbone. Sweet flavor with a dry finish. I do have to disagree about the over doing it on the Bourbon, this is nothing like KY Bourbon barrel ale, a lot more complex.

tried this at Cincybeerfest. I could be wrong on the style and I have no idea what the ABV is. What I do know is that once again a beer brewed in Kentucky has overpowered the beer with the bourbon. We love our bourbon! However, it does not make for a good beer; in fact, In my notes I described it as beer-flavored bourbon. It was sweet and watery with what appeared to be a high alcoholic concentration.
