White Hind is a Best Bitter with a strength of 4.5% alcohol by volume. The beer is named after the well known white hind that used to be a regular sight on the Quantock Hills. Alas the hind is no longer, its body was found with its head removed. The head was later found in a stream and now hangs in West Bagborough village hall. The image on the pumpclip is taken from an actual photograph of the hind.
The beer is brewed from a blend of four malts, the main ingredient being the best quality Maris Otter pale malt. This gives a full bodied beer with a deep amber colour, packed with malty flavour which is generously hopped with Target and Goldings hops. A true delight for the discerning drinker that wants a beer with taste and character that makes it stand out from the crowd.

Copper ale, slightly musty hoppy aroma. Flavour primarily roasted malt, with a burnt hop edge. If you like this kind of robust, almost arsey hop then you’ll love this. Sampled at Charter’s Beer Festival, Peterborough May 2008

Bottle. There were some lumps of sediment floating around just after opening which was a bit off putting. What followed was nice.-a fruity flavour with some spices. Finnished quite bitter and left lots of lacing. Another good one from this brewery.

Bottle conditioned, 500ml from Candy & Gifts, Minehead, Somerset. Copper with big white head, a volcanic pour. Masses of condition in another well bottled beer, a sharp, punchy malt flavour, nice and crisp, which then tails of a little but the hops give a good balance. Pretty good.

Quack-Duck (8921) - Down South, GERMANY - SEP 6, 2009
bottle, bought somewhere in rural South Devon. Cloudy golden colour, mid-sized fluffy head. Fruity nose. Wheaty and malty with a yeasty touch and some aromatic and bitter hops with a sharp and woody character, which gives this beer its very own rural character. Slightly fruity (peach, mango).

Bottle. Brown with a small head. Aromas are weetabix and toffee with spritzy yeast and lemon. Quite fresh. Flavours are sweet weetabix and biscuit malts. Bitter, pithy grapefruit with a peppery finish. A decent fruity, malty bitter.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol, 13/12/09. Deep gold with a decent, frothy white head. Aroma of biscuit malts, summer fruits and grassy hops. Flavour began with some sweet malts, aprciots and a dryish, bitter finish. Good.

Cask at Stortford Beer Festival 2011. A hazy amber beer with a bubbly white head. The aroma has notes of malt, phenols, and fruit. The flavor is sweet with notes of fruits and malt, leading to a dry phenolic finish.

amber colour, slight sweet carmel aroma. Not much head. Looks like a solid bottled bitter. taste a bit malty with a hint of hay or grassy in a good way.

A very pleasant bottle-conditioned bitter with a nice hoppy aroma and good auburn colour. Pronounced hop flavours in the mouth and well-carbonated with a pleasant creamy head. A good bitter for everyday supping.
