mullet (767), Melbourne, Australia Oct 3, 2003 Quite cloudy with a big frothy head, which looks great initially but doesn't really last. Aroma is nice and gingery and lemony like a soft drink ginger beer (yum). It tastes OK but it probably lacking in ginger bite and is definitely too sweet. I really did enjoy the taste but I really struggled to get through the whole schooner due to the sweetness. Judging by the people drinking this at the brewery I don't think I'm really the target market for such a drink, but good on them for having a crack at it. Betty (231), Walgett, NSW, Australia May 7, 2003 Updated: Aug 11, 2003Very nice beer made with us ladies in mind (let's go girls!). Shania Twain would love this beer as do I: a true late afternoon refreshment and energizer. We all have our Newcastle stories to tell, and what better way to tell yours than over a refreshing Newcastle Ginger, out on a wharf dreaming a dream of cranes and bridges, obelisks and beaches? Yours, Betty. motelpogo (4124), Plzen, Czech Republic Jul 24, 2002 don’t really have anything to compare this to. not overpoweringly gingery but refreshingly so. then the sweetness comes and it is too much and makes the beer a little sticky. this needs to be a little drier to be something you could conceivable drink more than one of Nesta13 (188), Australia Jun 16, 2002 Initially, you think this is better than it really is. It has a pleasant aroma, decent-ish head and the first few sips are nice. Then after a while you realise the problem with it. It’s just too sweet! You would almost swear you were drinking a soft drink (the head fades aswell). Nice to see someone having a go at this style though.
