MiP (6221), Flensburg, Germany Sep 9, 2008 Cask, 3.9% at GBBF08. Hazy dark amber colour. Good roasted nut flavour. Grainy aftertaste, but with a malty and vinous touch. imdownthepub (4224), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Aug 24, 2008 Cask conditioned at The Royal Oak, Bigbury, Devon. Brown to amber with white head. Quite a deeply roasted bitter, which gratefully seems to be the new trend away from blonde / gold bitters. Strongly malty and quite nutty but also with a solid dry hop character. A very decent ’Quaffing Ale’ as the pump clip says and perfect after bashing across 8 miles of Devon Countryside with a further 5 to go.
