3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Swaroga (791) - Brussels, BELGIUM - MAY 9, 2013
33cl bottle. Hazy brown with medium, ivory head. Nose : very nice smell of yeast, fruits and tart. Some toffe and milk chocolate. Sip : creamy with decent carbonation. The beer is spicy sweet. Clove and tart flavour. It gets a bit dry this way. But still the beer is dominated by malt tart taste. Delicate bitter end. Mostly spices and earth.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 janubio (279) - SPAIN - MAR 18, 2013
330 ml. bottle. Amber copper colour, with a big head that holds decently. Smell is very faint, with apricots, caramel, pine and spices. Too light body imo, but drinkable. Taste of apricots, apples, caramel some spices, but too faint too. A bit of a deception, since I’ve really enjoyed osme others Queue de Charrue.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Grzesiek79 (2359) - Radom, POLAND - FEB 4, 2013
Dobre i ładnie wyglądające piwo w pokalu. Pomarańczowo-burzsztynowa barwa i odcienie. Piana spora i się zaznacza na szkle. Aromat toffi ale lekki, smak karmelowy i średnio intensywny
1.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 BlackHaddock (2355) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 1, 2012
Brown 25cl bottle brewed by ’Du Bocq’ for Vanuxeem-Ploegsteert. Plenty of life left, best before 22 Nov 2009, drank late April 2009.
Poured into a Duvel Glass.
Clear amber body, darkish off-white head, good retension and lots of bubbles rising through the beer, looked impressive.
Aroma of yeasts, malts and apples.
Bland and lifeless, a slight malty flavour, very disappointed compared to the smell and look, but I shouldn’t have been surprised, Du Bocq produce some fairly crap beers in my opinion. This is just another one of their pretend beers.
One of the worst Belgian ambers I’ve ever had!
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Svesse (5197) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - FEB 22, 2012
(Bottle, Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm) Amber colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity, malty nose with apricots, honey, orange and slightly floral hops. Malty, fruity taste with notes of orange, apricots, honey, a touch of yeast and floral hops in a fairly dry finish. Medium body. Tasty and quite decent, but hardly exciting.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 thewolf (9882) - Kolding, DENMARK - AUG 29, 2011
Bottle, bought @ Bier Tempel, Brussels.
Clear orange-amber with a big, frothy, off-white head. Fizzes slowly away. Aroma is sweet, Belgian sugar, light metal, some peppery notes, red apples, light pine. High, prickly carbonation, fairly nice dry and light creamy palate. Flavour is elegant, sweet caramel and Belgian sugar at the base, fair grassy, floral and light piney bitterness in the end. Some red apples in the flavour as well. Kinda nice.
