33cl bottle. Hazy brown with medium, ivory head. Nose : very nice smell of yeast, fruits and tart. Some toffe and milk chocolate. Sip : creamy with decent carbonation. The beer is spicy sweet. Clove and tart flavour. It gets a bit dry this way. But still the beer is dominated by malt tart taste. Delicate bitter end. Mostly spices and earth.

La belle robe ambrée cache bien le jeu de cette bičre douce avec de vives notes d’agrumes en bouche. Assez surprenant donc pour une bičre de ce type. Elle laisse une amertume légčre, sans convaincre pleinement.

On tap at L’Estaminet, Verdun. Didn’t leave a lasting impression, but it wasn’t too bad.

Alengrin (2463) - BELGIUM - SEP 30, 2014
Typical ’spéciale belge’ commissioned by Vanuxeem, with moussy, thick, yellowish white head and coppery amber colour, clear. Aroma of unripe peach, walnuts, almonds, caramel, leather, some DMS. Neutral onset with sharpish carbo, dried fruits, orange peel, lightly nutty and caramelly maltiness, all quite restrained, mild and brief grassy hop bitterishness in the finish. Thin and rather bland.

Bottle bought in France, amber-brown with a thin head and hints of honey and pear drops on the nose. Fairly gassy and a little too sweet, with fruity malt and toffee notes. Slight bitterness in the finish. OK but not much there of interest.

Een amberbier waar er spijtig genoeg zovelen van zijn, namelijk zonder veel smaak aan.

bottle from Leclerc Beaune. Hazy goldn with an off-white head, quite fluffy. Fruity nose. Light-bodied yet with a pleasant sweetness and some nice fruity hopps flavours.

Light brown (certainly not ambree) body and white bubbly head. Very light toffe, but mostly a simple malt bill. More so, no hops at all and even a clean boring yeast. Nothing wrong with it though. Strange dry taste that does not match the aroma -- and not in a good way, because it makes the active carbonation feel rise above and so the beer tastes like carbonated water with a couple of grains shot through it. I hope the brewer isn’t proud of this achievement. Unless he makes bucketloads of money from it perhaps -- the buckets were certainly not filled to the brim with raw ingredients... (33cl bottle from cave Gambrinus)

Bottle, 33cL. Home. A light hazy amber beer with a medium white head. Short persistance. Fruity aroma, herbs, roasty. Medium bitter. Medium body and texture. Average carbonation. Dry bitter aromatic finish. I liked this beer. Good belgian ale.
