Å helvete vilken snyting med balsamvinäger i doften. Smaken är ju inte sämre direkt. Balans med syran och frukten. Världsklass. På delirium

UPDATED: MAY 1, 2013 Never heard of this beer before, the brewery turns out to be Verhaeghe.
Pours a very dark brown with a ruby hue, descending very creamy white head with incredible lacing. Full 5 just for the lacing.
Nose is a bit hard to pick up on account of the beer being too cold, getting some syrup, chocolate & light liquorish here, candy & light red fruits.
Taste is very sweet, thick chocolate syrup, cacao, cheap chocolate, thick liquorish, hint Sirop de Liège, thick caramel and light red fruits & overripe fruit, hint cough syrup & some very sweet herbs.
Body is touch syrupy, fuller.
Very interesting, enjoyable and different but shocked to see this listed as an Oud Bruin on RB, honestly didn’t get any of the vinegar, sour fruits, whatever that other people are talking about. Maybe it is just me….
(25 cl. draft @ Delirium Tap House)

Dobre. Uwielbiam ten styl. Kolebka regionalnej tradycji belgijskiej. Octowy i winny smak jak i zapach. chmielnego aromatu nie ma bo w tym gatunku to było by grzechem. Piekna bezowa i trwala piana czerwony odcien piwa. I ta lekka cierpkosc ze stosowna nuta slodyczy w tle. Debowy posmak takze jest.

Taste is cherry, caramel, cherry candy, some vinegar as well. Delicious. Palate is smooth, quite full, not much carbonation. Superbly delicious.

plus accessible et plus rafraîchissente qu’une Rodenbach, cette bière se déguste facilement pour ceux qui aiment les rouges.

Clear reddish brown colour, beige head. Belgian oud bruin aroma, light sweet, sour notes, malts, caramel, red fruit and wood. Light sweet flavour, light sour touch, vanilla and wood. Finish caramel, light wood and pronounced red fruits.

Deep but clear reddish brown with some visible carbonation and a good deal of beige foam that shows a hint of red. The smell is not unlike port but more sour, with some citrus fruits in there as well; a very unique profile that somehow reminds me of cherry candies. Strong but not excessive sour as in grapefruit and cherries, the slightest hint of wood, enough body for such a light beer but it’s really the sour character and cherry taste that bring it to life. Not much complexity but nice and original. The disadvantage of the rather strong sour taste is that the aftertaste falls flat in comparison, with only the slightest hint of cherry / grapefruit which even dissappears after a short while. I would have rated it higher if it had more lasting power. Other than that, it’s a powerful sour that reminds me of Verhaeghe’s Duchesse de Bourgogne but more tending towards sour and less "varnish" in there.
