Rastacouere (5418), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Aug 17, 2008 Objectively speaking:
An efficient and potent dark blond Belgian.
I like:
Ample body is a remarkable example of the style. Fair malty impression with its soft biscuity tones on top of the honeyed sweetness. Dry enough with a fair noble hop grip. I was surprised to read it is brewed at verhaeghe, it has the flavour profile I’ve come to expect from a Van Steenberge. Classic appearance.

I dislike:
Not much finesse. Alcohol is there indeed, but at 11%, this can be forgiven. Rather simple yeast profile not completely baked white brad. MartinT (4458), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Aug 13, 2008 My Bottom Line:
Doughy yeast, spicy hops and fiery alcohol coalesce in this voracious Belgian Strong Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A fluffy head of foam bobs atop the hazy blond orange.
-The mouthfeel is pillowy, which is appreciated with such a potent flavor profile.
-Carbonation is expansive.
-Alcohol doesn’t burn too long, as it is overtaken by a herbal hop bitterness.
-The doughy yeast is present from nose to finish.
Bottle. Eructoblaster (1275), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jul 15, 2007 Bottle - 750ml. Hazy blond body with average carbonation and a lasting white foamy head. Nice hoppy aroma with herbal and flowery hints. Its sharp hoppy taste partly hides the alcohol and carries yeasty notes. Texture is soft. Ends with a good bittersweet and warming finish. Enjoyable! Boutip (1855), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jun 22, 2007 Bottle: Poured a deep peach color ale with a rather large foamy head with good retention. Aroma of light peach, sweet malt and subtle alcohol. Taste is dominated by some sweet malt, with some light peach or apricot with some warmimg alcohol. Body is full with some light filtration but alcohol is way too apparent for the style. This beer is quite good until all this alcohol appears which is a bit of a shame. french tickler (520), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada May 14, 2007 Lightly cloudy golden poor with a foamy white head. Aromas of pinnaples, peppery, peaches, apricot. You can definitely feel and taste the alcohol. Good bitterness and sweet presence. Very lively effervescence. Lacing is apparent. Added green bananas to the flavors. creamy mouthfeel with a long bitter aftertaste. Good overall. NOTE: to drink around 8-10 degrees celcius.
