3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught in Melbourne. A nice sweetish porter with notes of vanilla, earth, roasty malts, and cafe latte. Finishes dry and lightly bitter. Medium bodied with an oily texture. I get none of the advertised smokiness. Appears deep reddish brown with a light tan head.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Dark brown with a light tan head. Aroma as advertised: mocha with plenty of vanilla, a little grass too. Medium bodied. Sweet and a little iced chocolate syrupy, some light roast, vanilla, coffee. But there’s enough bitterness and a punch of pepper along with some grass to stop it from being a confection. Solid beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at Tsubu. Deep mahogany black with a fine, short-lived cream head. First sips give dark choc, vanilla and light toasted coffee. A tad slick and mediciney. Not a bad quaffing porter, but not overly deep or rich.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Head dissipates quickly. Subtle vanilla and malty choc flavour with a burnt and smoky finish. Wont be a repeat purchase

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500 ml bottle
Black with hints of ruby, light tan head that falls to a collar.
Nose is vanilla, coffee, earth, roasted malts, and milkshake. A touch sweet smelling.
Well balanced beer. Goes between vanilla, coffee, roasted malt, caramel, and chocolate. Slightly earthy taste. Nicely done beer

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Draught at Alehouse 24, Yamanto. Poured an opaque black with a brownish edge tint. Had a few light tan bubbles for a collar that laced poorly. Aroma of dark sweet chocolate, roasted grain and subtle vanilla. Taste sweet with roasted grain, subtle vanilla, sharp bitterness and a hint of burnt bitterness on the after-taste. Medium body. Semi-smooth (not creamy), dry and a long subtly burnt wood finish. Nice.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: OCT 21, 2014 Pours dark brown with a reddish tinge. Brown head that holds. Medium bodied and well carbed. Aroma has the typical porter flavours of coffee, bitter cocoa and some roasty charred character. However there is a strong vanilla presence with a slight smokey finish that gives this beer an edge. Taste reflects the aroma, with the chocolate and nutty flavours a little more accentuated
